We visit relatives in Steubenville and Weirton 4 to 5 times a year and always have a lunch at Yorgo's. The gyros are wonderful and they make a nice baked chicken with lots of sides as well. Give yourself a treat and try the ouzo-flavored soft drink!

First, let's just get the quality of the food out of the way: The Gyros were REALLY good! You get A LOT of meat for one gyro. The tziki sauces is very limey, but very good - I don't usually like tziki sauce.

Second, but VERY IMPORTANT: you MUST communicate any special orders to the employee while you are ordering. Don't wait until they are preparing your gyro. It's not like Subway where they ask you what you want; they just make your gyro with lettuce, tomato, tziki, and onion. If you want to add anything (like feta, peppers, cucumber, etc.) or subtract anything (like onions or tomatoes) they won't give you the opportunity to, so tell them right at the start.

They have specialty potato skins that you can load with different toppings, salads, fries, ice cream, shakes, frappuccinos, baklava, cookies, and MANY different types of drinks and sodas. Everything looked really clean, including the bathrooms, and most of the restaurant is white, so you would be able to notice any dirt... It may look a little pricey when looking at the menu for the first time, but you get A LOT of food for the money. The regular gyro is $7.95 and a gyro with fries is just under $10.

Finally, they also close kind of early. It was a Saturday night and they closed at 6 p.m. while we were still there. I saw that they had some $3.99 specials listed for breakfast (served until 11 a.m.), so they must open early. One of the breakfast special listed was gyros sandwich with an egg, which sounded really yummy. It was only about a 4 minute drive from campus, so the next time we are in town for a conference, we will definitely visit.

Overall, I was really impressed and will definitely be back, but I will know next time to make sure I make my special orders as I am ordering.

The reason they say "Yorgo's Gyros-Potatoes" is because the potatoes are freaking amazing. The other stuff is delicious too, everything on the menu and the portions are quite generous.
