Description: The Root Beer Stand has been a close-knit family operation from day one and remains so today. As a matter of fact, both of our main cooks met the men they married while working at The Stand. They were carhops back in the 60's, and still enjoy the fast-paced work. And the root beer.

Wow talk about a time wrap. So fun and brings back some great childhood memories of a simpler day. Food is good but not great but this is a can't miss place when you are longing for simple food, great rootbeer and a walk back in time.

One word describes the Root Beer Stand: America. Yes, America. It's a quintessentially American place that serves as a time machine for us who remember the drive-ins of yesteryear. You gotta have a root beer float, sit at the counter, and admire. Simple as that.

This place is seasonal. And when it is open it is full on open. The girls at the counter are jumpin! They do not have time to hold your hand and read it to you. It's on the board on the wall and on bright orange paper trifolded in stands on the corner posts of the counter. If there is a line, grab a menu and be ready to order. If you are an a/c kind of person do not go at lunch or at prime dinner time. You will not have a seat inside. You were told so don't be mad when you do so and you are standing there eating a footer looking like a fool. The outdoor area is big. Tables and astroturf spots so if you have a blanket, throw it down. Kids can play on the well maintained wooden playsets.
Home brewed root beer like you never had unless your grandparents were bootleggers who made you the soft stuff. They also have a non carbonated house recipe orange that is churning in an old school top trickle fountain style container. (If you ever were at a Woolworth lunch counter you know what i am talking about.) Burgers, dogs, footers, pulled bbq, chips, better than movie theater popcorn, floats, ice cream and a few things like the ice cream man used to sell in your neighborhood.
It's been around since Henry Ford made Model A's. Go get a tshirt and a bumper sticker.. knock it off your bucket list. And plan to keep going back!

The Root Beer Stand is just the kind of place if you're looking for good food, friendly service in an old-fashioned setting. I used to live in Cincy 20 yrs ago and went to this place as a teenager. I recently was in town and brought my husband and two kids. We enjoyed footlongs, popcorn, cheeseburgers, drinks and a root beer float, all for around $13 total. What an awesome deal and wonderful place to show my family how non-chain, homemade food, and genuine kindness is served up in the Queen City.

You haven't lived until you go to the Root Beer Stand in Sharonville. It's cash only so be prepared. You can get fresh root beer, foot longs, burgers, etc. for a VERY reasonable price and take home a gallon of the best root beer ever for $5.00. Can't beat it!
