First of all we throughly examined the room everywhere because we were terrified of the bed bug and worm reviews. Our room was clean. We had a family suite. It was on the same floor as the water park and I was very concerned with all the hall traffic and noise and I was actually disappointed as I prefer to be on a higher floor (felt like I was dumped in the basement for $399.95) BUT, it worked out great to be close to the action and there was minimal hall noise that we could hear. The room was under stocked for towels etc. but I called and they were delivered quickly. Our check in was VERY FAST we arrived later in the day though. The pool area is slippery and the lines were long, although the pool area did empty out a little around 8pm which decreased the lines. On Sunday though the lines were absolutely horrible!!! And I do not know why I paid $399.95 room rate+$26.64 state tax+$12.30 Huron Tax+ $8.20 Erie Tax+$8.20 resort fee when there is absolutely no benefit for staying at the resort. The public can use the pools from 900-1000pm just as the guests can. (no early or even late benefit). Rather than staying at the resort in the future, I think it might be smarter to simply do a day pass.

Stayed at Kalahari for a mini vacation Aug. 10-12 and really enjoyed the resort. We had a 2 bedroom Suite (condo) and were impressed with the decor and cleanliness of the rooms. Called housekeeping for extra towels and pillows and they were promptly delivered. The waterpark was great, crowded but still lots of empty tables and chairs to set up. Travelled with 2 teens who loved all the water rides, ziplining and the ropes course. Couldn't get them away from the animal park!! We would definitely return for another stay at this resort!!

We just returned from the Kalahari Resorts while visiting Cedar Point ( also very fun) We had an enjoyable time.
Pros:
-Check in was quick ( a few minutes) and we were able to check in at 2:00 p.m.
-The room was clean and spacious we had a two room suite perfect for three teens and two adults
-Plenty of lifeguards on duty
-Large indoor and outdoor water park with plenty of water rides and slides.
-Overall is a nice vacation
Cons:
-pricey (The food was overpriced but there are plenty of food places within 5 minutes
-The resort should be open to the people who are staying there. It is opened to the public. ( At times it was too many people.)
-The floors were somewhat slippery.
-We had a room on the water park level it was extremely noisy especially after midnight. -People running back and forth screaming, yelling and talking. There is a "quiet time" sign posted from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Obviously people ignored it.
-The mattress was a bit saggy.
Overall it was a decent stay I think some things need improvement. We did enjoy our trip. We plan to return to Sandusky, OH but we would are probably going to stay some place else.

The water slide area was very crowded and slippery in many areas. We stayed in one of the Africian Suites with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and kitchen, and pull out bed in the living area. On our first night we discovered there were no blankets and pillows for the pull out bed. Called housekeeping at 8PM and when we returned to the room at 10PM still no pillows or blankets, called again and was told they were overwhelmed with calls. Waited until 1AM for pillows and blankets to be deleivered they never came. Out last night of our stay, 2 bathroooms had no toilet paper, no clean towels, and no shampoo and conditioner. The room service was AWFUL.

Myself my husband and my two children ages three and eight just recently stayed at the Kalahari in Sandusky, and I have to say that it was pretty awesome. The room was nice and neat, no bed bugs like in some reviews (thank God) and staff was very friendly. This place can cost a pretty penny but we were prepared and had a budget. The Reserve, the candy hut and other food was very tasty. The Waterpark is huge and there were so much to do but because we went during the week we rode mostly everything the lines were not longer at all the longest lines were the family rides and the wait was no longer than 20 minutes. My children just loved the wave pool which was a bit overcrowded at times but there were plenty of lifeguards. This place was like another world, I didn't want to leave and is definately coming back. I know the kids loved it because they were sad to leave. The only complaint i will express is that this place is raking in major dough so i believe that a little tlc on the resort could be needed. Or better yet just allow the people staying at the resort enjoy the waterpark, it would be alot better

We were amazed by the size of the water park and especially enjoyed being able to sit outside. The grounds were clean and staff was nice. Rooms are fairly large, but average in decor and amenities, but then you are not there for the room. The breakfast buffet was very good - a lot of entrees and choices. We also hit up the candy/dessert shop at night and everything was tasty.
The only negative is it's a long walk to the parking lot and it's amazing the congestion around check-out time. All in all, a good choice.
