Sandusky KOA campground

Upon arival we checked in and headed to the mini park model we had reserved. We got one that was very small and basic, no microwave or any of the basic untensils we expected based on their website. We went back to the office and they moved us to the slightly larger mini park model for free and it was very nice. Decent size bathroom and tub/shower, stove, full fridge, microwave. The mini park model was very, only thing we were unhappy with is the sliding door was not latching to be able to lock the slider. Told the office about it, but it was not fixed still after the three days we were there. Free internet access in the office was great, just you need a laptop with a ethernet port to use it, but was perfect since I had my laptop. I enjoyed staying here and the security in the campground helped me feel reassured since we had the problem locking the mini park model.

Park models were clean and comfortable. Not large but didn't spend a lot of time there. Facilities were clean. Campgrounds well maintained and personnel were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again when we travel to Cedar Point. Great for families.

Upon arriving at the site, I was neither impressed nor disgusted by the look of the place. We parked the car and came into the office, looking to book a tent site. The person behind the desk informed us that it had rained a lot lately, so she gave us a map, highlighting the tent sites, and told us to go take a look around and see what we liked. After a few minutes of looking around, we found some higher ground and set up camp.

The multiple restroom facilities were clean and well lit. For $20 (plus a 10% discount for AAA members) you get a picnic table, a fire ring, and a lot big enough for a large tent and a car. Electricity is $3 more. We never used the pool, basketball court, or laundry, so I can't attest to the quality of those. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would do it again without hesitation.

It was a great place to stay. They let us bring the dog on the condition that he does not bark and was not left alone. The office staff was very helpful on suggesting activities besides attending Cedar Point that catered to interests of other people in our group. I was very pleased with the rental also. Clean, tidy campground, and up-to-date living space.

Definetly had some reservations about our decision to trailer park it on this trip but the experience ended on a positive. We hadn't even got to the door of our Park Model yet and a fist fight broke out accross the street at a camp site. Park security arrived and cleared out the camp site. But the experience didn't leave a good first impression for sure. The Park Models are for the most part neat and orderly. The carpet was stained and the bathroom fixtures were obviously well used put functional. Our rate of $78 a night $40 each split with another couple was promotional but even full price on the weekend would have been acceptable. We had use of 3 bedrooms, bathroom, microwave, coffee maker, frig/freezer, sink. In the daylight the park was very well kept with access to a camp store, pool and laundry.
