This hotel is off the beaten path, but that is part of its charm. My son and I stayed here for our trip to Cedar Point and Soak City and we found it to be clean, quiet and comfortable. There were trains going by but they didn't bother us. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing and the breakfast set up in the pavilion was nice. I would have liked some fresh fruit along with the waffles, bagels, donuts, muffins and yogurt. Overall, we had a nice stay and would come again.

40 y/o father/husband: The room was clean and not gross, but also nothing special. The breakfast, to be frank, was a little sad (styrofoam plates, plastic utensils, etc). The pool was also laughably small. We also had a 2am fire alarm which woke everyone up, though everyone's entitled to a fluke now and then. On the upside, the value was good for this overpriced area and the woman at the desk was very nice.

41 y/o wife/mother: Many of the hotel units are rented to people who live there. This negatively influenced the vibe of the place.

13 y/o daughter: Breakfast was lame. Pool was lame. Room was lame. Overall consensus: lame.

7 y/o son: Breakfast was horrible, pool was medium. Don't stay there for more than a day unless you live there.

Clean, well maintained, and staff friendly. Six of us stayed in two rooms thru the week to visit Cedar Point and Soak City. Breakfast area was well maintained and offered many choices. The trains, yes, but who cared? We were tired by the time we got back to our rooms and slept very good. Staff was outstanding! I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The location was a blessing because it was very close to Cedar Point. I will return with grandchildren and stay here!!

Don't trust the pictures of this location when booking a room. They DO NOT have a fitness room. The manager told us they are unable to remove it from their website. Do not stay at this location unless you are not bothered by a train passing by hourly. We had the A/C on high to try to cover the noise of the trains but still couldn't sleep. The room was dirty & had a zip loc bag of Cheerios behind the t.v. on the floor and a food wrapper on the floor next to a bed. After finding a gym in town, I returned with a receipt and asked to be reimbursed. I was told to see the manager the next morning. The manager Brenda said they couldn't do that. When I checked out and turned in my room keys for two rooms, it wasn't until then that the manager had a change of heart and reimbursed me for my gym expense. Two rooms for two nights, the least the manager could have done was comp one night on one of the rooms for the hassle. Instead she made it clear she was friends with the owner.

Room Tip: The free wifi didn't work. Stay at a different location.

The title tells you what you want to know. That, and the red carpets and purple bedspreads are nowhere to be found. There are modest signs of age and wear and tear in various places, yet everywhere I was in and around the hotel was spotlessly clean. The few staff members were very pleasant and friendly. The free breakfast is your typical fare of carbohydrates, juices, yogurt, fruit and coffee, all laid out nicely enough. Nothing spectacular, but decent. The outdoor "cabana" is pleasant for breakfast in better weather. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to avoid not just this property, but any of the ones along the main train line through Sandusky, as the trains seemed to fun fairly frequently and at all hours.

We wanted to stay in an inexpensive hotel since we were spending most of the day at Cedar Point and only needed a place to sleep. The hotel is very close to Cedar Point. In fact, we left the park for dinner and to check in at the hotel without wasting much time. After reading the comments about the trains, we asked for a room in the back and it worked out great. With the A/C on, you couldn't hear the trains at all. The rooms in the back are also single story so you didn't have to worry about noises from the rooms above.

Our room was VERY clean, although it did have a musty odor when you first walked in. It also had a small fridge, microwave, jacuzzi tub, and a safe. Although it didn't have soap, shampoo or conditioner, these items were provided by the staff once we asked. The WIFI is free but can be spotty at times.

Breakfast was better than expected. There was a variety of items such as cereal, bagels, english muffins, danish, packaged muffins and granola bars, fresh fruit, coffee, milk, and juice. The donuts were a big hit but be sure to get there early. The breakfast area is also located centrally by the rooms so it was very convenient to drop in and take the food back to the room if needed. Otherwise, there were plenty of tables and chairs if you wanted to eat there.

There is also a small outdoor pool and hot tub although we didn't use them. All in all, this hotel was a great value for the area. We will definitely stay here again.
