“Best waterpark/ hotel/ pool/ arcade/ and a little bit of everything else”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

This is truly a family attraction. There is something for everyone. There are water slides, an AMAZING arcade, a pool, a hot tub, a water roller coaster, and little shops. Kids will enjoy it as well as their parents. It is a very safe facility and you can feel comfortable leaving your kids to do as they please. There is outdoor stuff, as well as indoor stuff. You really need multiple days to do even half of everything there. It is surrounded by really good restaurants, so you don't have to stay on the grounds, all though you very easily could. I would go again in a heartbeat.

“Waterpark awesome, rooms average, staff needs some training”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Many "rides" to keep the kids both young and teen happy. The park is clean, but crowded. If you have little ones you must keep your eye on them, do not count on the staff. The rooms could be cleaner. I stayed in an African Queen suite twice and BOTH times had dirty dishes and garbage in the pull out sofa. As much money as you are spending I think the staff could be friendlier at the desk, valet, housekeeping and water park. Never had any issues with staff at the restaurants they were great. I guess when you have kids running around screaming all day and you are only 18 years old you get sick of it. But my family (2 kids older teens) go we always have a great time. Great break from the winter blues because the sun shines through the ceiling of the water park and it is at least 80 degrees.

So great to have you! Thank you for visiting us! I will be sure to connect with our housekeeping team on property and address that they need to be more thorough with the dishes and sofas specifically. You are correct, the rooms at the bare minimum should be completely clean for your arrival. If you ever have this issue again, don't hesitate to let us know while on property, we will do our best to ensure your expectations are met. Thank you for reaching out to us and we hope to see you again soon.

“Super fun for EVERYONE!!!”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

Really folks! This place has something for everyone! From GREAT rooms, We've stayed in the Hut room(the smaller less accommodating room of them), King lodge sweet(Very nice with whirlpool bath tub, a full kitchen, large dinning area, and sitting area with large fold out couch foldout chair and a couple more seats, and a SEPARATE bedroom with locking door! It was bottom floor right outside was all the outdoor safari things which was nice to not go thru lobby to go outside! but a hassle when trekking to water park) & The King Whirlpool sweet(4th floor but the whirlpool tub has LARGE mirrors on 2 corner walls, THE BEST BEDS I'VE EVER SLEPT IN!! & A GREAT SHOWER!!) All had a fireplace we could hang dry shorts/suits in front of and if you check regularly on their website has some great offers.
we took advantage of the "time to indulge"/"romantic get away for 2"/"time to relax" and plan on many more visits!!
Even though it's kind of pricey We made it 4 times this year 2x with 3 kids 2x our selves!! You have to do both if you got kids, you'll miss so much with or without either way!!!
SUPER FOOD, FANTASTIC SERVICE, SUPER FUN FOR EVERYONE!!
MY FAVORITE VACATION DESTINATION IN MY HOME STATE !!!!

“Fun for a day.”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We have visited Kalahari in Sandusky a few times. The rooms are very nice. We always had a room that had a MW and Fridge. Waterpark admission is included with your room rate for up to 4 people.
The hotel is very nice and has a wonderful atmosphere.
There is a game room for the kids to spend some change, a small mini-golf course, and a play area for the little ones.
The one thing I do not care for here is that they allow non-guests to pay admission to enter the waterpark. This can make it very crowded very quickly. Iwould prefer it be opened to guests of the hotel only, like Great Wof Lodge.
The waterpark has better rides than GWL, but both get boring pretty quickly.
I would only stay here a day or two at the most. You pay a premium price for the wp access, so if you do not plan to use it, I would stay elsewhere.
