Could have been cleaner and better maintained but, over all for the price in that area it was a nice place to stay.

Stayed one night. Just needed a place to sleep after a day at Cedar Point. The beds were terrible. The room was damp and musty smelling. The hallways smelled. It was so bad that my son ended up sick (head cold/allergies acting up) from staying here. The staff were very nice though. There was no bath tub, it was a stand up shower. There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

I choose this hotel because it was newer than the others in Sandusky. We were not very far from Cedar Point. The room was nice but simple. We had a nice enough breakfast. We were near the mall and resturants. The staff was very nice and the room had a safe for our computers. There was also a nice pool that we enjoyed.

I booked 3 rooms for our stay. One room had an air conditioning problem. When we arrived, the window was open and we did not know why until later (next morning actually) that the carpet was wet probably from the air conditioner. This is where the luggage was placed when they arrived, on wet carpet. Housekeeping must have known about the problem; that was why the window was open. Told the front desk at check out, they apologized for the problem and said they would have their manager give us a call when he arrived. Don't believe that happened. Other than that, the other 2 rooms were okay.

The breakfast was decent and convenient since we were on our way to Cedar Point. Overall, the hotel was okay for the price due to its location. I would stay again.

Was scared to death to get a room in Sandusky! Internet reviews were horrible for everywhere (unless you want to spend a bundle). One Dad, 4 kids. (yes I did that) Pulled off route 2 and pulled in first place SLEEP INN! Front desk was great help, even directed us to discount tickets for Cedar Point at Meijers Grocery Store. Room was small with 2 beds (what more do you need) Room was clean, bathroom was clean. Pool was awesome (open til 1AM) good to soak in the hot tub after Cedar Point. B-fast was the usual, waffles, cereal, pastries and juice. Tables were clean and food was plentiful. I don't see what all the fuss is, you get what you pay for. Was it 5-star..NO. Was it clean, safe, inexpensive and close to everything YES!

Room Tip: Ask to look first, they don't mind.

This is an older worn motel that is in desperate need of some improvements. Overall it seemed clean but could use some updates.

Room: Two small double beds that were very hard with no padding. Felt like sleeping on a trampoline. Very small bathroom shower area with a sliding closet type door to close off the area, kinda strange. WiFi worked fine.

Motel: Ice machines and pop machines on all floors. Elevator very very cramped and slow. Ended up taking the stairs often even though we were on third floor. Carpet needs to be replaced in the hallways, very worn and stained in areas. Didn't use the indoor pool but seemed ok.

Final thoughts: Not impressed with the breakfast in the morning, no hot items like scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon. Im starting to expect more from these setups since a lot of hotels are offering better selections. The hotel was a bit overpriced for the condition of the place. Could have stayed at similar motels cheaper in the area. Hampton and some other places were all booked up so this was one of the other options.

We booked this hotel with another family traveling back from NY to Chicago. I am AVID about using Trip-Advisor for reference.. but with no access to internet on the road, we had to use the good ol' telephone. Hotels.com said there were good and bad reviews and wanted $138 a nt for 2 nts. Uncomfortable about paying up front for 2 rms for 2 nts and not ever seeing the place, we called the hotel directly and spoke with Brandi, who may I add was very helpful and knowledgeable of the property. She told us it was 12 years old, no frills, very clean and in a nice area. Indoor pool is open till 1 am. Rate was $77 a nt with breakfast in the am. With 2 families caravaning, 5 kids under the age of 12... this seemed ok enough. Our plans were to make base camp, hit Cedar Point the next day and drive home to Chicago. Arrived around 10:30pm...lobby was quiet and looked ok... grabbed a luggage cart and headed up to our rm. In the elevator up, there was a candy bar wrapper on the badly worn carpet...no big. Then we are walking down the hall on really worn carpet and hearing the TV noise from almost EVERY room. The movie "The Shining" immediately came to mind. Got into our rm...stale smell, small, dumpy beds, the vanity light is out and there is a hole in the shower door, from what I'm thinking was a towel bar at one time. Also, a dark red stain on the carpet..regardless of what it was, I can assure you it had been there awhile and no one had made an attempt to clean it up, just vacuumed over it...maybe. So as the hot tears are starting to roll down my face, I try to suck it up, tell the kids to suit up..we'll go to the pool, rough it for the nt.. and check out in the am. We take the stairwell this time, only to find an empty pop can and some skittles there...super. So, we get in the pool area, never checked the water, but the kids swimmed anyway with no complaints.

This is where it get really fun... the hot tub was having a problem and Brandi told us the owner was working on it...there were 2 young men no older than 17 in the pump room seeming to be tinkering with the pumps. I'm pretty sure they were the owner's kids sent to band-aid a problem that would be seen by a professional in the morning...hopefully. No sooner than they leave, the hot tub starts overflowing like a levee just burst. They return, shocked... and start pumping the water from the hot tub into the pool. Seems like a rational move, but the problem is, the pump is plugged into the wall by an extension cord that is now sitting in the water created by the overflow....and I'm thinking these "workers" really don't know anything and anyone in the pool is about to be electrocuted. Yanked kids out of the pool, headed back to the room. Unfortunately, the family we were traveling with had a host of problems as well...we all agreed to just leave early in the am. Not alot of sleep that night!! 9 am...husbands made a Starbucks run...wives stayed back and concocted a plan B.. used the wi-fi in the rm which, BTW.. worked great..., ...

Can't comment on the breakfast because we took a pass. Wound up at the Kalahari. Pricey...yes..but way more my kinda place. I'm not a big fan of that kind of vacay fluff..especially, arcades and $$ food...but the weather was too rainy and cold for Cedar Point, so the indoor water park was a no-brainer.
I also felt that the previous night's experience had earned this momma some spoilin'.

We travel a fair amount and I always use Trip-Advisor for reference...if you need a no-frills room and aren't concerned about health or safety..this is the place for you. There were plenty of other hotels in the area that looked decent..Best Western, Hampton Inn, Fairfield..they were in $140 range....I'm sad to say we cowered to the almighty dollar and went with the cheepo rate at the Sleep-Inn.

Room Tip: close to Cedar Point, gas, grocery
