We parked at Creekside Meadows and took the trail briefly to Cemetery Ridge, which starts out with a steep climb. We went longer than the 2.5 miles because we continued on some other trails. The descriptions of the trails are on the metroparks website. The creek has many perfect wading spots. There is an old barn to explore and also a fenced-in rare yellow lady slipper orchid on the Cemetery Ridge Hike. We went into Logan to Pizza Crossing for a late lunch (the M&M diner closes at 2 and Utopia Brick Oven opens at 3), then we went to nearby Cantwell Cliffs for a hike til time to leave to beat rush hour Columbus traffic.

If you walk the grass trail there are wild flowers all around. Bugs too- so bring your spray! This trail isn’t challenging unless you also choose to go on the cemetery trail. The picnic trail along the river has fishing areas and a decent flat walking trail. There are two cabins nearby that you can walk to. Very few people!

After hiking at Hocking Hills, we decided to try Clear Creek. This was a great hike that had plenty of trail options with a whole lot less people. Also had some higher hills for a challenge or two.

The largest of the Metro Parks, and probably the quietest, because it's the furthest from Columbus. Good range of trails, from some flat ones running through meadows to long, steep ones through hemlock forests.
