At Boulders Edge
Reviewed January 18, 2011

We stayed in the Skyview cabin during our visit to At Boulder's Edge in Hocking Hills for my girlfriend's Birthday. We were so extremely pleased with every single aspect of our stay! Renee went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best and most comfortable experience possible! The cabin inside was emaculate! The view from the hot tub was spectacular! I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is. It IS located near rt 33 but we couldn't hear the traffic at night. You could only see the lights in the distance from the cars. It took about 45 minutes total to get to some of the most popular sites but the drive was awesome...4 miles up the highway...exit at 664 and the rest of the trip was through a very nice winding country road! Lots of photo opportunities along the way. We WILL be going back...possibly for our 1 year anniversary in March!? Who knows! But it's a lovely place! YOU'VE GOTTA VISIT!

What a wonderful place for the family, We stayed for a week in the Tipi and the kids had a blast - the wife and I also found time to relax under the stars once the kids feel asleep. The owners of this place Frank and Renee were so helpful - they went out of their way to make sure that we had a great time. The Tipis are set off by themselves so it was nice to be out in the woods without all of the crowds. There was alot of deer and hawks flew over head every day. The campground was clean and this was the best kept bathroom in any campground we have ever been to.

My husband and I stayed in a tipi and LOVED it!!!! It did rain but it always rain when he and I plan a camping trip!! So we came very prepared. The rain flaps were very easy to figure out once Frank made sense of it for us. We closed them once it started getting cloudy and none of our stuff got wet when it started to rain. It was a very peaceful relaxing weekend very close to the places we want to see and very close to the zip lines!!!! Other places we've stayed were small and what seemed like a 45 minute drive to the places we wanted to go! This place was easy to find and not too far off the beaten path. As long as you can read the big "Rockbridge State Nature Preserve Next Left" sign on the express way you can find it!. We can't wait to go back. We used to pick a different place to stay every time we go down to Hocking Hills but never again. We will only stay At Boulders Edge now! In fact, we are planning another trip here this year instead of waiting for next year's retreat! Clean, friendly, and spectacular!! Can't wait to see you guys again!

We decided last minute to try and get away on the weekend and to our surprise, when we called at 5:30, not only did Frank answer our call and answer all of our questions but allowed us to book last minute and wait for us to drive 2 1/2 hours to check in at 9:00 PM on Friday night. We had called a couple other places and recieved no answer even though there availability showed it was open for the weekend. When we arrived we met Frank who was very polite and enthusiastic about his, and the surrounding, property; as he should have been. We got to the cabin and it was emaculate. We have stayed in quite a few cabins in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Lake Cumberland and none have ever been as clean or ready for guests as this one was. The hot tub was hot and very clean, which we have had past problems with. Throughout the weekend it was always a joy whenever we talked to Frank about his place or the surrounding area and my wife loved all of Renee's crafts and pictures found at the gift shop and around the cabin. Will definately return.

Boulders Edge, Hocking Hills, OH

The entire Schmitz clan, which we have 4 kids and 4 grandkids along with in-law children. We loved it totally!! If you like to camp boulders edge is the place to be in thier Tipi's. You have potbelly stoves in the tipi'salong with air mattress's that sleep 8 in each tipi. and even had room for pack-n- playpens for grandbabies.
There was total privacy back at the tipi's and It's BEAUTIFUL country ! There are many attractions in the area.I personally loved going to Old Mans Caves, it was awesome and the kids had a ball climbing and hiking in there. We plan to make this a yearly family vacation. It's so beautiful and relaxing out there The prices are great and so are the owners who run it all on thier own. You feel like your leaving family behind when you leave.Theres also log cabins and accomedations for RV's. The cabin's are so pretty and each is in it's own private area.If you have ever seen "Dancing with Wolves" with Kevin Costner? Well the tipi's will make you feel like your back in the movies with alittle modernization.Theres alot of history in Hocking Hills for you to explore. If you love the country and need to relax away from the city, this is where you need to go ! You can get more imformation at ATBOULDERSEDGE.COM. It's deffiantly at the top of our vacation list , my husband and I might even go get a cabin without the kids!!
Sincereily!!!!!!

At Boulder's Edge is the place to stay. Owner's Frank and Renee' go to the extreme when it comes to making their guests feel at home. The greet you with a warm smile and welcome you and your friends like they have known you for years. The hospitality they offer you is hard to match anywhere else. The cabins are always clean and well maintained. The tipi's truly make you feel like an Indian. These two people went far beyond any expectations that we had when signing in. If your looking for a one night stay, or relaxing, peaceful weekend getaway you are truly missing out if you stay anywhere else. My wife, kids and I have fallen head over heels, At Boulders Edge.
