My husband and I just returned home from our stay at Ashley's Island House. Neither of us had stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before and were so pleasantly surprised! The house was just so charming and clean! Judy, Bob and Kelly were wonderful hosts - so helpful. We traveled by motorcyle and when we were planning on leaving yesterday, bad weather was in the forecast and they brought up the radar on the internet and helped us to determine the best time to leave - even offering to put us up for another night if needed. Instead, we waited out the storm on the beautiful front porch with some of the other house guests. Once the rain passed, we (unfortunately) left - but promised we will be back!

We have stayed here for the past few years. We use to stay at the hotels (which are way over priced) We never stayed in a B&B before and wanted to see what one was like so we knocked on the door of Ashley House and asked if we could see a room. They treated us like family and showed us the entire house and we ended up extending our stay and spent the night at the Ashley House. That was 4 years ago. The price is way cheaper than the noisey hotels. The hotels do not provide the personal touch that you get at Ashley House. We took my in-laws for the first time this year and they loved it. You don't even need to rent a golf cart since everything is just a 2 minute walk away (and I'm not a walker). If you are out late you must try Cameo pizza. The airport has cheap drinks and lunch if you rent a golf cart. Most resurants give you generous portions. My husband and I know which resturants we just have to share at since there is just to much food. The fish dinner at the Boat House is one dish you can share.

Welcoming decor, Bob and Judy Bransome, and Kelly were all kind, helpful and did their best to make sure we have a good time. We Did and we would DEFINTELY return! If you are looking for a place to relax that is close enough to the town to walk----you dont need to look any further!

My husband and I have been enjoying put in bay, for 25 years during our marriage and I've been going since a little girl with my parents, but usually docking our boat at one of the many fine marinas. We found Ashley's B&B last year and still take our boat, but after finding this lovely, authentic, and very comfortable B&B, this is where we call home when we are in port. Everything about it is wonderful... It's comfortable & clean and the beds are amazing ! I absolutely love their front porch, whether it be a great cup of coffe and a book in the a.m. or a cocktail or glass of wine before going out for the evening. We've even enjoyed Pizza on the patio after a "late evening" recapping a fun evening with friends or newly made friends staying here. The "front porch" is a great place for watching the world go by, and just simply relaxing ! Another thing, after a full day & evening at PIB, is sleeping in a comfortable bed and having total peace and quiet and wonderful rest. No offense to the hotels on PIB, but honestly if you want a great nights rest... , and the cozy comfy feeling you want while on vacation, you must stay here. The continental breakfast is really generous, with all sorts of things, and more than "the norm". Personally, I'm a "hot breakfast" or "eggs casserole" sort of person, or just good Irish Oatmeal with walnuts & brown sugar & toast , so I'd prefer this was offered through the week rather than just on the weekends, but they do let you use their kitchen or microwave in the kitchen galley area, as was the case when we stayed there recently. Either way, the continental breakfast is still WAY nice... Judy and Bob, are absolutely amazing (Can I just say... too wonderful) !!! They also remember their guests which makes you feel just like family. We've had family as far as St. Louis refering here now. Their staff members are just as wonderful too. They've got a good thing going on here... Stop in and stay, and enjoy all the wonder of their charming B&B. You will not be sorry :)

We called Ashleys based on the reveiws and were lucky to find they they had a room for us. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Judy, her husband and staff were wonderful. They made us feel welcome and at home. The place is decorated very nicely. It was nice to find several of the guests from Pittsburgh and spent many hours on the porch talking, laughing and drinking wine. Ashleys is also very close to all of the action.
I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.
