Owner description: Theres plenty to see at South Bass Island, such as the Marblehead Lighthouse, the Cedar Point Amusement Park, and the William Perry Monument, and its fishing opportunities cant be beat, especially if you're fishing for Walleye and Perch.

As a day trip, a trip to South Bass Island is a fairly expensive proposition for a family. There is the cost of the ferry and then the cost of transportation once you are on the island.

We took the Miller Ferry which puts you on the island away from the downtown area. I will certainly check into the Jet Express next time which I hear is a little more expensive but does let you off closer to the downtown area.

There were buses available at the dock, but we were not quite sure how much we could see from them so we chose to rent golf carts. It was $70 for a 6 person cart for all day. Even though this was more expensive, it was a better option because we had several people who couldn't walk far.

There were many great restaurant options on the island and everyone raved about their food at the Boathouse grill.

It was quite cold and windy on the day of our visit so we didn't get to take advantage of everything that the island had to offer. There is shopping, caves, historical sites and just enough of those touristy things your children are dying to do!

I would live to return on a warm summers day and take advantage of all this island has to offer.

The staff at the airport were helpful and friendly. The flight over was incredible. We went by Cedar Point and then on to South Bass Island.

Besides Put-In-Bay being a party island, I like to visit this island to get away from everything and relax. This island has a lot of quiet spots to watch the sunset and think about nothing at all. It's a good time renting a golf cart and seeing the whole island and then enjoy the night life when the sun goes down.

Nice ferry ride on the Jet Express to a little island full of various attractions, shopping, restaurants, pubs, lodging and other services. We mapped out our day and rented our little golf cart at the dock. Our first stop was Tippers for some excellent Walleyes bites and adult beverages then on to sight see when it started to pour buckets of rain. We had rain ponchos but we were not prepared for that 20 degree temperature drop. I can't remember where we stimulated the economy waiting for the ferry to return but they were all happy people that made us feel welcome.

Spent a weekend camping with a Boy Scout troop. Some interesting things to see on the island. Favorite part was the ferry ride to the island. 5-6 foot waves made for an interesting ride...
