“#1 zoo in the US”

Well deserved designation as top zoo in the country. The Wildlights at Christmas is not to be missed. We have children in high school and college and still get a membership- excellent value and a great way to support a shining star of our community!

“Nice place”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We were recently in Columbus and we decided to visit their zoo. It's a nice zoo and the grounds were very clean. But, being from Cincinnati we also have a zoo and the whole family definitely agreed that we like the Cincinnati Zoo better. You can get closer to the big cats at the Columbus Zoo but there's big wire cages that impair your ability to take good photos and some of the cat exhibits have viewing areas with glass but the glass was so dirty that the pictures weren't very good. At the Cincinnati Zoo you can't get as close to the cats but they are in a big open exhibit and there is no glass or wire to obstruct your view. Also at the Columbus Zoo there's a lot of walking. It's fairly level ground the exhibits are pretty far apart so wear comfortable shoes.

Good place to take the kids. Plenty of animals, and also animals behind cages. :)

“Loved the natural habitat”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

This has become my second favorite zoo. My favorite is the Asheboro Zoo in NC - but I'm partial since I live in NC. Anyhow, I love seeing the animals put in a place that is close to their natural habitat and the Columbus Zoo does a good job of this. Yes, it sometimes makes it hard to see the animals, but I'm sure the animals like it. It was very well laid out and I'm pretty sure we covered the zoo during our one visit. There is a great variety of animals too.
