My boyfriend and I had a wonderful dinner! Food was great. Had local wines on the menu so we actually got to have Firelands 1812 with our meal! Great service! Will return!

Had 2 wonderful meals! I had the crab cakes, baked potato and salad and my boyfriend had the filet mignon with same sides. Best crab cakes I have had, including ones I had in Baltimore! Boyfriend ordered steak medium well and wished he had ordered medium, but said that was his fault, not the kitchens. Wish we would have had room for the incredible looking dessert tray! Server was pleasant...just wish she would have checked back a little more promptly, as the restaurant was not packed and we were there for a late dinner on a Monday night. We WILL be back!

The hotel is so historical and restaurant is very inviting. The service was wonderful and the food was great. So glad to see it unchanged from how we remembered it from years past.

The Island House has gone by many names and various owners over the years. It now has come back with a new owner, great menu variety and great food and drinks. Prices are in the $20+ range for entrees, but that includes a nice salad and wonderful hot bread. Drink prices are a bit high, but they are very good. Our party of 4 had different meals and each one was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely with linen cloths and napkins. You can dine in the large area, a smaller cozy area, or outside. Valet parking is also available and we used this as Friday night was very busy. Port Clinton sits right on Lake Erie so it's a nice drive to get there as well. Don't expect cheap prices but the food warrants the price. There is a more casual restaurant right across the lobby if you prefer burgers, but if you want a really nice meal, go to the 1812. We'll be back for sure.

Fantastic food, friendly and efficient service and a quiet dining room. Who could ask for more? (I loved the creme brulee! And it was included with our buffet.)
