Our family overnights at Mohican Lodge 1-2 times per year. This year, the price skyrocketed to around $180 per night and to we thought twice about booking at this new, higher rate. Certainly one could stay at a very nice Marriott for this price at - say - Niagara Falls with all the bells & whistles and we know the rooms here are fairly "standard" and circa 1970's with a new coat of paint. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, we did book the room and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This lodge offers a setting in the absolute wilderness with plenty of outdoor fun-to-do. With acres of unspoiled forest, Mohican is a great place to relax, disconnect and enjoy nature.

Great lodge. We have stayed here in the summer and fall. Always a treat to come back to visit. The trails are beautiful, the pool is relaxing and the campfire is delightful. They start the camp fire about 630 pm and you can get a "smore package" at the front desk. Wonderful time in nature. Also I love to get a game of pool and table tennis in while we are there.

Room Tip: Rooms facing lake were great, you see a lot of trees but the lake is there to view. Great time arou...

The lodge benefits from a pristine setting that is matched by few locations in the midwest. If you enjoy the peaks and defiles of Brown County, Indiana you will love this place: All the attributes -- without the crass commercialization. The amenities of the lodge afford a combination of indulgence and an immersion in the natural surroundings. Not inexpensive, but a good value -- even for the 18 of our family who voiced unanimous acclaim for the experience.

Room Tip: Go for the twin queen beds on the 1st floor. A bit more, but worth it.

We did a family weekend vacation at Mohican Lodge. There was so much to do that wasn't even advertised. Friday night there was a naturalist led Gazebo Hike. The naturalist told jokes, taught us things about the trees, the birds and about the weather's relationship with the lake. She noticed our daughter's love of birds and offered to guide a bird hike the next morning. On the bird hike we saw a family of eagles, red headed woodpeckers and several other beautiful birds. At four o'clock on Saturday the naturalist was back with snakes. She talked all about them and then let the guests hold them. Saturday evening a representative from the Bird Sanctuary did a talk and introduced the guests to two birds; an owl and a falcon. Sunday morning at ten o'clock the naturalist was back for a turtle program. In addition to all that, there was shuffle board, a basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, a playground, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, pool table, ping pong table, video games and fire rings that we roasted marshmellows at. I can't say enough about what a great family vacation spot this is. I must say a word about the incredible staff. They were all happy and appeared to be happy to be there too.

We stayed here for a wedding that was taking place at Malabar Farms, which is only 15 mins away. The hotel is nice, would be a great place for families with lots of games, two pools, and a game room. The rooms are large. We were able to get a cot in comfortably. Large fridge in room. Very nice balcony. Everyone was friendly. The lounge was way to loud but there was a large party there the evening we stayed. Sound does travel through the walls.

This was our third visit to Mohican Lodge. We were celebrating our ten year anniversary and also brought along our kids. We enjoyed our stay. Views of the lake are spectacular! We did the hiking trails in and around the Lodge. We were a little disappointed the outdoor pool was not open but enjoyed the indoor pool all the same. The food in the dining room is somewhat on the average side. We hope to make a return visit this Fall to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We stopped on our way home from another vacation earlier this year and have returned 4 times since. We tried Salt Fork once however came back to Mohican. This is a very relaxing lodge, great people (Roma and Misty @ Boxers lounge offer excellent personable service), the view is amazing...even in the winter!! There are hiking trails, games (indoor and out), Malbar farms and boat rentals (that was fun). We will continue to visit for our winter and summer weekend get-a-ways. If I had to say they were missing anything it would be a hot tub in the pool area during the winter, besides that I think they offer everything for a nice relaxing weekend.
