Used web site to find "Hot Date" deal. During weekday room was $69 !! coupldn't pass it up. After we booked they called to notify us the indoor pool would be closed for cleaning. Outdoor pool had life guard on duty, even though there was no one in the pool. Watched the sunset pn the patio. Then they had a fire pit, so we were able to sit outside in the cool summer evening. Ate food from the bar, only because we had eaten a big lunch at Bromfield Inn. staff was very attentive. Each floor has a solarian with couches. Each room has a balcony with chairs & table. Wish we cold have stayed longer so much to do. Next time and there will be a Next Time.

We opted for a room at this lodge rather than a campsite at the park and we were quite impressed at the accommodations. The room was clean and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. It was so quiet there. They have a lot of amenties for a very reasonable price. A generous breakfast ticket was included with the room with an option for either buffet or ordering from the menu. The staff was friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend a stay there.

My husband and I went to Mohican for our 37th anniversary weekend. We had a wonderful time. The view of the lake and swimming pool from our balcony window was great. The whole weekend was quite and relaxing, just what we were looking for. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I would recommend Mohican Lodge to friends.

We spent the night at the lodge as part of a family getaway with our children before school started up again. After enjoying a very pleasant afternoon at the pool, a yummy dinner (especially the fried green beans) at Boxer's Lounge and a little sand volleyball we returned to our room tired and ready for a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, that was not on the itinerary for this trip. I awoke about 11:30 p.m. to some strange sounds in the room. I woke my husband who brushed it off as a cricket or a chirping smoke detector. Finally, after hearing it in several different spots in the room I turned the light on. I cannot even express the surprise and horror I felt when I saw three BATS circling above our bed! After hiding myself and the children in the bathroom, my husband went to the front desk for help. Meanwhile he had left the slider open in the hopes they would fly out. Upon his return we found them gone and assumed they had made their way out on their own. We searched everywhere and saw no signs of them so we convinced ourselves they must have been in the room before we got there and tried to get back to sleep - with the lights on! An hour later they were back and we did the same drill - hiding in the bathroom, going for help. Only this time the front desk representative told him there really wasn't anyone to help us and asked if she could give us the bat net? Seriously, this was her solution. After informing her that was not a reasonable option she tracked down a park ranger to help us. This time when we returned the bats were gone again, even though we left nothing open. Obviously, they had their own way of getting in and out. Unfortunately, the only room they could offer us was one with 1 queen bed for 4 people. We made due with a rollaway, what else were we going to do at 3 AM with 2 kids? Not that anyone got much sleep that night anyhow. In the morning, we wanted to see what they said at check out. They generously offered to take $50 off our bill for the inconvenience! When my husband explained that we were certainly not paying for a bat-filled room we didn't even sleep in, they gave us serious attitude. Their explanation was "we gave you a room to sleep in!" Like they did us some kind of favor. Eventually we did get the charge for the night removed from our bill and an extra $11 off breakfast, but not without negotiating and getting attitude from the staff. I'm not sure what is more surprising - the bats, the fact that no one at the hotel seemed surprised (when I asked if this happened before they said, well it has happened....) or the complete lack of customer service after such a horrible experience. Our next day of vacation was completely shot since we were exhausted and on edge. We have visited several state parks before and been happy, but we certainly won't be back to Mohican and wouldn't recommend it to anyone - unless you have your own bat net handy.

Since this hotel sits on a ridge above Pleasant Hill Lake you get a spectacular view of the sunset. The pub also makes the best "Roadside Lemonade" I have EVER had. It's fresh squeezed while you wait with fresh fruit and vodka mixed in. YUM! Perfect for a hot summer day. Good food in the restaurant too, which was a relief because the nearest restaurant is in the next town. Nice clean rooms and a huge outdoor pool. They also have an indoor pool. Both are very clean. Only problem is that if you need to get to the lake or have a boat on the lake you'll have to take a 10 minute curvy drive to the other side of the lake to the marina.

Room Tip: Ask for unit A if you want a view of the pool...unit C for the best view of the ravine and woods. A...
