A friend and I went in on a Saturday Evening without a reservation when other plans fell through. Although they were fully booked, they found a place for us in between patrons.

The staff were extremely courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. The food was delicious, the mushroom soup is excellent!

Took another trip down (1 hr. 15 minutes) to the Rose & Thistle with another couple last night. We've raved about it so much the other couple wanted to try it.

Started with a large Mussel appetizer that the 4 of us shared. It was wonderful! My wife doesn't normally like Mussel's but these were fresh and delicious, she ate a small plate full.

The salads came and I got the caesar salad. It was probably the best Caesar Salad I've ever had. The other couple had house salads and they looked good, but the Caesar salad was great.

Main courses were Monkfish (my wife), Beef Wellington ( the other lady), Ahi Tuna and I had the rack of Lamb. Everyone said they loved their entree's. I tried a small piece of the beef wellington and it was melt in your mouth tender. The other gentlemen was surprised their was no Wasabi with his Ahi Tuna but once he tried the sauce that was served with it he stopped looking for the Wasabi. He ended up loving the sauce after he ate it. My rack of lamb was probably the best I ever had. The meat itself was done perfect, no fat, no grissle, nothing but tender lamb. The sauce that accompanied it was slightly "fruity" in taste which I didn't think I would like, but it matched the meat perfectly.

Finished the meal by sharing Creme Brule's with fruit. Nice and crunch and warm on top, cool inside. Decadent!

The other couple wanted to split the bill and thought the waiter had made a mistake. They full expected to pay $40-50 more for their half of the meal.

Oh, also, I'm not a wine expert, so I usually get a glass of their house white or red, but the other gentlemen said he was very impressed with the price of their wines. Substantially less than he usually sees in high end restaurants.

Just wish it was 15 minutes away instead of 1 hr. and 15 minutes away!

Enjoy!

Burgers are fantastic but only have a certain amount everyday. Filet was great as well as the creme brulee. Dont wear a hat they will ask you to remove it or sit at the bar. Yeah one of those place but food excellent.
