“the best restaurant in the area- by far!”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

My wife and i discovered restaurant Europa several monthes ago. Since our first night experiencing the charm of this wonderful place we have been back several times and consider it our favorite place to dine.
The food is amazing, starting with the eastern european dishes like latkes, bilinis, and especially the caviar and green mussels. The entrees and abundant and unique such as the foie gras- my favorite- schnitzel, stuffed cabbage, veal and lamb, along with specials every night.
Enjoy all this while being serenaded by violin playing.
Top off the evening with a visit to the "freezer" and enjoy a chilled shot of their own infused vodkas.
The service is friendly, knowledgable and top notch. Everyone there enjoys working there and it shows.
The food, the staff, the vodkas are always consistently great.

“Good food, good fun”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

We sat at the bar and had several vodka drinks and vodka infusions. On one round we took our drinks into the "Freezer Bar" kept at -15 deg Fahrenheit. You get to choose one of several Russian coats and hats before entering the freezer. Ain't fancy but we had a lot of fun.

Dinner was also good. We had delicious cabbage rolls with sausage stuffing. Our waitress and bartender, Sue, was very nice.

Alex, the owner came out to talk to us at the end of the evening. He is a very interesting and warm guy.

“Loved the food, and the violinist!”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Casual and crowded on a Tuesday night, this place rocked! Every course was delectable, from a menu that covered all of Eastern Europe, and even included a couple of vegan choices. The only food that was not done well was the chocolate crepe dessert which seemed burnt; I needed a knife to get thru them. The site is old, and nothing to write home about, but the atmosphere was made special by a violinist who had an amazing repertoire, and who played throughout the evening.

“Fun evening tasting Russian food”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

Four of us had a Travelzoo voucher for appetizers (all less than $10), soup or salad ($4-$5) main course and dessert. We tried four appetizers--mussels, beef stuffed potato cakes, mushroom crepes and calemari. All were delicious, but the mushroom crepes were particularly outstanding with a blend of delicious flavors. We tried three different soups, the borscht (yummy!), matzo ball soup, spicy mushroom vegetable (VERY spicy, but tasty!) and the Greek salad. Again, all were very good. For main courses, we chose the Russian schnitzel ($14) which was covered with a mushroom sauce. The schnitzel would have been better without the sauce as it was a bit overpowering and made the light crust a bit soggy. The schnitzel came with very delicious, perfectly fried potatoes and crisp-tender broccoli and cauliflower. The second entree, rack of lamb, was perfectly cooked with a nicely textured and flavored crust and was served over a rice mixture. Our third entree, Meatloaf Wellington, was equally delicious. Our fourth choice was a BBQ beef rib ($16) served over a rice mixture---delicious, tender, but the BBQ sauce had quite a bite to it! The desserts were our only disappointment--the chocolate crepes we had were nicely presented and served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The crepes themselves, however, were so tough that we were unable to cut them with a fork! The millefeuille made a beautiful picture with swirled raspberry sauce on the plate. It was decent, just a bit soggy.
The highlight or our evening was our server. He was attentive, very informative and full of little stories pertaining to the restaurant and the menu. He made our evening a wonderful experience!
