Got married here. Read reviews and talked to owner Carol. Seems like the perfect place. But when it was the big day. Everything we talked about and discussed all went down hill. Every time I turned around something went wrong. From double booking rooms to having a guest stay that wasn’t even part of our wedding which we rented the entire place. No apologies nothing. Just shrugged shoulders and said we were over reacting. Sending one of our guest down the toad due to there bookings and then let someone else stay there. Until my wife found out. And was super upset they finally sent them away about 11 o’clock at night. Absolutely terrible. We even had them cater it. Which we ran out of food had children working the whole venue. Which they don’t even speak English. Complete disaster
Carol the owner didn’t have any compassion towards us or our day. They forgot multiple things that were suppose to happen. Carol is out to make money only. Don’t let the first impression get you. She not what she seems. My opinion.

For the very first time I felt I knew what a brand new home looked like in the Victorian Era. No old stuff trying to look good. The restoration was epic. The owners and the staff were very accommodating.

Great place! Super nice! Loved the rooms. Bar stays open! History is cool to read about!! Better than the typical hotel! Staff was all super nice! We stayed in the Captains berth room. Could have slept 3 at least! Huge!

This mansion is immaculate and the staff is very very friendly. We had the pleasure of speaking with Carol who knows the whole history of the building and the Steele family. I would highly recommend this place.

Room tip: All of the rooms are different.

I generally don’t like old-themed, crusty, musty type places that are “historically significant.” That’s what I expected here when a family member booked it for a funeral in town.

While maintaining the rich, beautiful history and decor, somehow the owners have remodeled this fabulous building with all the best modern conveniences, spacious feel, gorgeous decor. Each room is a huge, beautiful masterpiece. The outdoor spaces, decks, porches are spectacular.

I would come back here just to stay at the Steele Mansion with nothing else to do in town. They have a wonderful full bar area, great buffet breakfast. It’s one of my favorite places. The owners deserve all their success- they’ve built a real special place!
