Steinkeller's is hard to find, but when you do, do not be dismayed by the underground entrance. Once inside, you feel as though you're in a nice stone restaurant & bar in Germany. They have great food as well as drinks!

“A let down”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

We drove down from Dayton just to try this place out. We had high hopes. The menu looked great. But our disappointment started when we discovered that contrary to their online menu, they do not have veil schnitzel. Only pork or chicken. We went ahead and ordered the pork Yeager Schnitzel. Anyone familiar with German food will be disappointed. I felt like I was eating shake and bake. And the spaetzle seemed like it came from a box. We have Amber Rose down the road, and Schmidt's in Columbus. Stick to those for real German food. It also didn't help to have a bunch of loudmouth Greek-ish kids gabbing as loud as they could the whole time. The only thing good was the beer, and I had to remind our waiter to bring be the beer I'd ordered. Overall, a major disappointment.

“Cool atmosphere and great beer”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

Visited on a Thursday night and had the large beer and dinner specials. The two sausage dinner was excellent--especially the red cabbage salad. Didn't think I'd like that, but I was wrong. The large beer was Large! The waitress was very helpful in assisting us with our beer choices and we weren't disappointed. The reuben sandwich was very good according to my husband. The bar is in the basement of an old building, but you wouldn't know this once you're in there. Very inviting atmosphere. We will be back when we're visiting our daughter at Miami University.

“Great beer selection and atmosphere”
Reviewed March 22, 2012

We had a great time with Dad's weekend at Miami University and spent a little bit of time at the Steinkeller. Wow, great beer selection! Can't go wrong here for a tall cold brew and some fine German fare! Sehr Gut!!

Lots of good cold beer, the food was good but fairly average for this type of establishment.
