This restaurant is famous for its homestyle soups and salad bar--home cooking so good that you see many regulars in their same seats night after night. For our latest visit, they had an outstanding Italian Wedding Soup and a German-style beef vegetable soup with a faint vinegar kick to it. You can get as many helpings as you like of either or both of the day’s soups and salad fixings. This is a great place to get Great Lakes perch and walleye fried up fresh and delicious. Waitresses are friendly and service is informal. We had elderly parents with us and everyone was very patient and understanding. I had a fresh-tasting eggplant parmesan served with a side of spaghetti. Family members enjoyed everything from a fruit plate with muffin and yogurt to fried shrimp and scallops to a BLT piled high with bacon. Everyone left happy. Atmosphere is sort of dated diner-ish, but always neat and clean.
