I was with a group. Some stayed in the rather shabby cabins, which might suit if you had rambunctious children. The manor rooms are gloomy and dated, but clean. There is a mediocre swimming pool, golf and some other recreational activities. This is probably best suited to families with young children.

Be warned that the Manor is not handicap accessible. Even first floor rooms require climbing two sets of stairs--a pain for event the fit, toting luggage. If anyone has mobility or back problems this is not the place for you.

The service is less than prompt. I called the day before to reconfirm a small refrigerator in my room, but there was none when I arrived. When I called the desk, I was sent to a mail box and did not receive a call back for about three hours. They did bring in the refrigerator after that.

Restaurant hostess said that she would if she could find a place for us in the empty dining room. Some time later, another employee came through and said they would see what they could do. All the tables were set up for dinner and it was 6:30 (dinner hours 5-9 pm). We gave up and drove into nearby Burton.

Wifi is easily accessible, but TV channels limited and there was a loud buzzing that made it difficult to listen to NBC and ABC.

There is no lobby seating. Anyone who wanted to chat had to go outside into the hot sun. Not too bad on this lovely day, but there should be lobby seating.

This is an attractive park, but does not have features that would induce me to travel any distance to visit.

Thank you for staying with us and telling us about your visit. Our unique, quaint property was built in the 1920’s when common barrier free features were not so common. I have already shared your comments with our management team and we are currently working on retraining and directing our staff to provide excellent service. We are making many improvements with both the building and staff. Thanks again for reaching out to us.

We have traveled out west - & always forget to bring a puff ball to shower with when only liquid soaps r in the shower - Xanterra does a good job w/the park lodges - but the liquid soap does not do well on cloth wash cloths - so best to bring ur own puff ball - stayed in the mansion - room we stayed in was small w/no place to open ur luggage - they need folding luggage racks - plenty of room in the long closet - but not a lot of room in the actual room - decorated nicely - but we actually had to put a pillow in the chest of drawers - really bad smell - did mention to the staff to do some sort of cleaning rotation w/pillows & comforter - so the next guest will not have an "odor" problem like we did - hopefully they have corrected this & then ur stay will be great

I had a two-night stay in the lodge. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, but bring your own coffee.

The restaurant served an okay breakfast buffet on Sunday, but I ate all my other meals at local restaurants which are surprisingly good.

We did not stay at the lodge but at cottage. Cottages are rustic. We asked to change cabins as there was a problem with screen door and they were accommodating. There were 3 places that you could eat at dining room table, on large screened porch that backed up to woods, and there was a picnic table outside near grill. There was a full size kitchen. There was nice size living room area. There were 2 bedrooms one with full size bed and other with 2 twin beds. The ad I had read on state park site talked of fire ring and there is one but not at each cabin. There is one for all the cabins. We stayed in June for 3 nights during week and it was very quiet. We did visit lodge and it is interesting with a lot of character kind of dark. The concrete outdoor steps leading from rooms was in need of repair. Area is near Amish and we had good meal at Amish restaurant.

Room Tip: When choosing cabin ask for cabin that you can park in front of. We had cabin closest to the lodge a...

We spent 1 night at this beautiful State Park Lodge which gives the feel of an English Tudor Manor House. We were greeted with a smile at check-in and told how to get to our room. Our room 210 was on the second floor at the end of the winding hallway. There were 2 very comfortable double beds, desk, large closet space and a small but nice bathroom. There is a sink on the outside of the bathroom as well as one inside. The shower head is lower than what my husband and I are accustomed to, but standing further away from the showerhead helped with that. The toiletries are fixed to the wall, but are nice.
Our room had a door that adjoins to room 212 next door. The only reason I note this is because we had an incident with the couple staying in that room. The rooms are non-smoking, however, this couple were smoking in their room and the smell was coming into our room from under the adjoining door as well as the constant arguing which could be heard throughout the night.
We did enjoy a good meal in the restaurant and we were seated in the dining area that had wooden framed leaded glass windows overlooking the snowy frozen lake in the distance. Service was good, but would have appreciated a smile. There was a large youth group so we attributed the lack of a smile to serving all the youth.
I enjoyed the Pork with Java Syrup and my husband thought the London Broil was satisfactory. The rolls were served warm with 3 different types of butter and were very good. The knives provided to cut the meat needed to be sharpened as we spent quite a bit of time sawing our meat. We ordered 1 piece of chocolate cake for us to split and the kitchen split it so we each had our own plate.
We did not use the indoor swimming pool so cannot provide any feedback.
We would definitely stay here again as we enjoy the quaintness and beauty of a smaller inn.

We stayed at Punderson lodge on January 25th. What a beautiful setting. We were in the new section. The room was quiet, well decorated and clean. We also ate at the restaurant for breakfast and enjoyed the view of the frozen, snow covered lake. We would highly recommend the lodge for a great winter get-a-way.

My team from work took a two day retreat in January, and stayed in two cottages at the Punderson Manor Lodge. The Hillside cottages are perched above Punderson Lake, with a porch on the back with an excellent view, though the temperature was in the single digits, so we didn't use it much. The cottages have two bedrooms, one is spacious (with two single beds and a double rollaway tucked in the corner for optional use, the other with a double in it more cozy but quite adequate. The decor is 70s dated (paneling, dorm furniture), and a little worn, but clean. The kitchen was fine (but very little counter space) with oven, microwave, toaster, basket coffeemaker, pots and pans, a few utensils including knives. The small gas fireplace was nice in the dead of winter. The cottages were plenty warm as the furnace worked well. The bathroom was smallish and dated, but clean, with a shower stall. The towels were scratchy white ones. The service at the lodge, which is a short walk away was fine, and the maintenance guys shoveled our front porch and steps, which was nice. At $99 per night, the deal is very good.

Room Tip: HIllside cottages have better views than Parkside (also called Lakeside?) cottages.
