This restaurant is located in Tamai di Brugnera (near Pordenone), about 5 minutes from my house. MrReaves and I passed this place several times before deciding to go there one evening during the week to eat.
We arrived at the somewhat early hour of 2000 during a monsoon to be asked if we had reservations. Nope, we did not since it's a weekday and most normal people are at home, cozy and dry. We looked around and the place was packed with diners.
Here's the breakdown:
The food was fantastic!! A variety of tasty breads was brought to the table before the meal, and the wine that was recommended by our waitress was perfect. Our main courses were wonderful, but the portions were minuscule. We felt that we should have gotten a bit more for what we paid. Our service was pretty great. We had just arrived in country, so our Italiano was severely lacking, but our waitress was patient and kind. We've lived in Europe for a while and slow service is old hat for us, but we didn't find it here.
Someone took a lot of time and effort to decorate the inside of this restaurant. Pay attention to the ceiling and the bar as well as the wrought iron railings and window coverings. We'll probably go again for special occasions, but we'll make reservations first.
