“Beatiful Garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

The hotel lies a bit outside of Jogya, that makes it quiet. But is lies on left and right side of a busy street, so you might hear some motorcycles and cars with engine and exhaust issues, that are quite common in Indonesia. Staff is very friendly, the huts are a bit run down but the beds are clean and the aircon is working fine. All the plants, the small river, the whole experience leave a pleasant impression. It is Indonesia, and it is not perfect, however I would come any time back to this place, and the value for money is good. the hotel is able to provide you with friendly reliable drivers to bring you around to the many temples and the airport.

Room Tip: Try to get a room faraway from street

We were extremely disappointed with this Hotel (Joglo Plawang). The room we booked (standard room) turned out to be small and dirty and old (not like the pics), could have instead book a small hut in the jungle for tenth of the price! Overpriced. The receptionist staff was also really annoying and ignores me (on his Blackberry, typing and smiling) when I was talking to him. I still remember his name. So I don't recommend this place to stay in. Bad, really bad...

Room Tip: Not the small, dirty, middle of nowhere, standard one.

When we arrived at Joglo Plawang, things looked promising - the lobby and surrounding area looked attractive. The receptionist asked us to pay everything up front so we did so (before seeing the room). After this, we were told that our room wasn't "at this venue" and so we were whisked off up a tiny, winding road and about 5 minutes later we arrived at what seemed like quite a derelict old shack in the woods.

Inside the room was tiny and there were hairs, holes and small insects on the bedding, which seemed old as it was quite clammy to touch. There was no TV, no bedside lamps, no mirror and it seemed very remote, quite inconvenient and dusty and not at all worth the IDR750,000 ish rupiah per night that they were charging.

We decided we didn't want to stay here and found another room free elsewhere. The receptionist would not refund all of our money (he kept one night plus the pick up charge). And although we insisted on talking to the manager, we were also refused that as he had already gone home. In fact, the receptionist didn't even ask what the problem was - I had to tell him to which he replied that some people leave but some people just stay. Obviously, it's not uncommon for people to complain about these rooms (in fact there was a couple with a small child who also arrived at the same time as us and also left to seek other acommodation after seeing the room).

I have to admit I felt quite cheated as we were on a budget and looking forward to a treat of staying at Joglo Plawang - instead, we ended up almost IDR1,000,000 out of pocket and were not treated well at all by the staff who didn't seem to care (except for the driver, who was very obliging)

I would never go back there and would warn others not to stay there either.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are quite a distance from the main resort and are quite old and in desperate need...

Its not a hotel, i called it local people motel. The room is far away from the hotel facilities. Hotel staff were good people. But theres no explanation at the websitethatthe room is at the other side of hotel area. I feel i've been fooled. So dissappointed. Totally disaster.

Room Tip: We got a standard room at an old joglo house at the middle of local people house where the access on...

I stayed in this hotel with my grandma, which loved the quiet atmosphere, away from the noisy crowded Jogja streets and soothing environment. The desk clerks were very helpful and nice. They try to help you in any way possible. Rooms were small, but had big comfy beds. The breakfast was ok, but because of the restaurant being across the street from the hotel, my grandma found it difficult to get there.

Overall, i would definitely book a room here again. The price is not bad, but well worth the service.

Room Tip: The suites are located near the lobby, which is easy to access, while the superior and the lower cla...

The hotel is on the edge of UBUD although Ubud is spreading and it is not so much on the edge any more as it was 5 years ago. This hotel has it all and in traditional Indonesian style. Done full of taste but you have to like the authentic. If you go for modern this is not your place. Service is excellent as well as the food. The staff is very helpful. We rented a scooter to get around which is very easy. The staff takes care of that as well. Each room (villa) is in its own garden and there is a lovely pool. The upgrade villas have a private little pool. Reasonably priced for what you get. A good choice

Room Tip: They are all good, if you want a private little pool take the upgrade room. If not (since there is a...

I didn't regret my choice of staying here for 4 days 3 nights. The price is relatively affordable. It has a beautiful swimming pool, well decorated-antique Javanese, most importantly, great and helpful staffs. I surely will come back again!
