This was our first visit to this B&B. Unfortunately for us, we could only spend one night. WE would have liked to snuggle in for a few more. We brought friends, who had never been to Amish country before. They were totally happy!! All amentities and service were top notch. Breakfast was the best and Loretta and paul could not do enough for us. WE soooo enjoyed Loretta's talk at breakfast about the history, culture, local points of interest etc. We will return!!!

Room Tip: i would always ask for a room on the top floor.

Paul and Loretta have a top notch bed and breakfast. The countryside and views are beautiful, the breakfast was warm and inviting, and they really give you an inside look at the Amish culture. We would stay here again anytime.

This was a lovely Inn. The ambiance was warm and friendly. The baked treats left at night were delicious as were the breakfasts. Paul and Loretta were perfect hosts. Over breakfast they gave us an intimate look at the Amish culture. Because of this, our trip was more special - it was our 35th wedding anniversary. We have traveled to Amish country many times before but this was the first time we experienced a more intimate visit. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor - it was smaller than anticipated but lovely. We had an outside ent...

We recently spent one night here. Visually the Inn and surroundings are beautiful. Unfortunately two aspects will keep us from returning. We stayed in the French Country room on the second floor. There is little interior sound insulation. We were able to hear the television located in the lounge area on the main floor as well as guest conversations on the main floor. In addition, there are only minimal light filtering shades on the windows in the rooms. There are lights on the outside balcony that are on at night. I did get up and dressed after going to bed, to ask if there was a way to turn off the light that was shining into the room. The Innkeeper had her husband go outside and unscrew the light. Once the sun comes up in the morning, the room is light. So much for 'sleeping in'. Also,if you wanted to nap during the day, there is no way to make the room dark. The heat in the room was not consistent with the temperature we selected. Even getting up during the night and turning it down to 66 degrees, the room was still too warm. Perhaps the daytime sunlight heated up the metal roof. The outside temperature did go down to the 40's that night. So although it was pretty, I did not sleep well and thus will not return.

Thank you for your stay and posting. We were most happy to turn off the balcony lights upon request. We turned off the entire light system earlier than it's automatically scheduled turn off time of 11 p.m. We are sorry that the lights presented a problem for you. We have, on order, custom-made Roman shades that will provide complete room-darkening capability. Today I purchased and installed a new room-darkening shade until the new Roman shades arrive. I am saddened that I did not know that you were too warm. Perhaps you were unaware that the climate control provides air conditioning in that room. Another option, with 40 degree temperature outside, would have been to crack open the windows which have screens. Right now the weather is transitioning from cold to warm. The pilot in the fireplace does produce some heat and is still on because some people still wish to run it during cool evenings. We certainly would have been most pleased to turn off the fireplace pilot had we been informed. Walls are sound-proffed between rooms. We are saddened that you heard the TV from the common room. Certainly the French Country room was not a good fit for you. We do have West Wing suites that are more isolated, that I believe would have served your purposes better. Again, thank you for your stay and input, as this knowledge helps us to better serve our guests.

The accommodations, food, delivery of quality information of the local establishments and recommendations are all presented with pride and ease. We love this place!
This was our fourth stay at The Barn Inn, this time we brought all of our adult children and their spouses. We hung out in the upstairs balcony and drank the local wines purchased from Loretta.
Enjoyed dinner with an Amish family, shopped for baskets and cheese and leather belts from local Amish merchants.
Breakfast was amazing! We highly recommend this place.

The details of having coffee, soup, & hot chocolate available at all times. Even have microwave popcorn while we watched a DVD from their DVD Library. Rooms and Inn are beautifully furnished to make guests feel at home.

We travel to the Berlin area several times a year and we've stayed in different hotels and campgrounds.. This was our first time in a B&B. Paul & Loretta do an excellent job of making their guest informative even to amish "regulars" such as ourselves ..highly recommend the Barn Inn!
