We stayed here during the Christmas season on a Friday night that featured a Children's Christmas night at the downtown shops in Millersburg. We brought our granddaughter with us and she had a such a good time. On kids night the stores offer a special craft for children to make, such as an ornament, gingerbread house or decoration. The stores have free refreshments including punch and tons of Christmas cookies. We ate dinner at the Hotel restaurant which was simple yet tasty. Not pricey like a big hotel, but much more a small town feel. Our room was very large and had a nice size bathroom. This isn't the Ritz-Carlton, but it is down home friendly, safe and very historical. The following morning we toured Amish country and bought our last Christmas gifts before heading home.

We stayed overnight here while doing a short weekend trip to Amish Country. The owners greeted us upon arrival and made us feel welcome. We prefer staying at the locally owned places vs. interstate chains and were rewarded with a large, clean room and a cozy atmosphere. Within walking distance to some really great shops downtown. Pleasantly surprised at the bar and restaraunt-staff extremely helpful and friendly. The only downside was the parking-we parked on the street, but had to move in a lot 2 blocks behind the hotel. I would reccomend to couples or solo travelers that like historic inns.

I have stayed one night in this little historical place. This was a weekend trip with my husband and it was a spur of a moment thing so we were unprepared in terms of hotels. We knew where we wanted to go though. We wanted to see the Amish country, have great food and do some scenic drive around. So before we arrived i checked my favourite travel site for some opinion and saw this little hotel built in 1847. And I definitely wanted to stay there for a night. If you ask me i would not stay there more than a night because it does not have a breakfast in the morning. plus you would wanna spend your time in the country nature. This hotel is in the core of downtown (a very lovely downtown). Its location makes it perfect to stay there for a night. you can visit this little town, visit the antique shops have breakfast in Jitters (breakfast place) and then start your journey through the natural beauty. Yes the rooms were thin walled so it is easy to hear things but who cares, you are on vacation and can be more flexible.we had an uninterrupted great sleep. It has small rooms but definitely clean. but the most important thing is that you actually stay in an antique place, you smell the history, look at the pictures. I think it is a privilege. We spend some time in the lobby. well it was not like a lobby actually. it was like a nice living room packed with antique items. with a nice view of the street and a nice fireplace. we had tea, read our books and some brochures for our next day. it was very nice. The next day after breakfast we drove to Farmerstown via 39 and 557 which was amazing. stopped by cheese factory bought some cheese and butter which by the way are amazingly natural and yummy. on our way there we saw the town of Charm. your second night and the rest of your trip you can stay at the charm country view inn. We have not stayed there because we had to move on but oh my god what a place. I have reviewed the trip advisor views and apparently it is a nice place. The location is amazingly beautiful.

Loved this hotel... we had a large room and all the historical decor in our room was just a neat touch especially the brick wall that the beds were up against. The floors creek when you walk in the halls but should be expected knowing you're going to a historical hotel. We enjoyed staying here for a girls get-away trip to Amish Country. Our room faced the main street and was a bit noisy but not over-bearing that you couldn't sleep. Close to Berlin, Charm, Sugar Creek etc. I would def go back and stay again.

With all the modern hotels in the area, I really can't see a reason to stay. The public areas are well restored, clean, with plenty of old artifacts. The room I stayed in was clean, but very small, old tv, it had good Internet, hardly any counter space in the tiny bathroom. Basically a depressing room. Put Two of these rooms together is what they should do. I'll never understand why hoteliers always seem to put you in the worst room, even when the hotel is literally empty.

This is a lovely hotel when you appreciate it for it's history - built in 1847 and fairly well maintained. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, but extremely small. We traveled stayed in this hotel with friends and had adjoining rooms and it felt like the rooms combined should have been a suite with their room being a sitting area and our room containing the bed and bath. But, besides the rooms being extremely small, it was clean and the staff was very helpful. Because the room did not have a refrigerator (it did have a TV and a phone, but that was about all), the staff was good about making arangements to store my medicine in their kitchen refrigerator and retrieve it when I needed it. Our room had a "view of the gardens" which consisted of looking over an air conditioner stuck in the window and down into a courtyard that was not very well maintained. It looked more like a place for employees to go when they needed to sit at a picnic table to eat their lunch. The building is, of course, old so it has some beautiful antique features. It does have an elevator for handicap accessibility, but it too is pretty old. There were some shops in the area, as this hotel is on a main street in Millersburg. The hotel has a small parking lot in the back, but was a little tricky to find when not knowing the area. The hotel has a restaraunt, but we chose to eat outside the hotel, as this is the Amish Country and filled with wonderful dining experiences in itself. Overall, the stay was ok, but I guess I was disappointed as it did not meet my expectations of places to stay in that area. If it is history you want, this would be a good place to stay. If you are looking for comfort, I would suggest staying somewhere else.

About what I expected. Maybe a little noisy from the street traffic and thin walls, but it is to be expected from an old historic inn. Rooms are clean and comfortable, internet works ok but the TVs are very small. As stated by previous reviewers the food in restaurant is sub-par but not terrible. For the money I really don't think you can beat this place.
