Finally got a chance to try out Melt Bar and Grilled and it exceeded our expectations!! We arrived just short of the lunch rush. Walked in, met by a mob of friendly staff and seated right away. Our assigned server was quick to take our drink orders and orders. Her and other staff that noticed low drinks were prompt at asking if we wanted refills and bringing them when we did.

Food was out quickly and cooked as ordered even with a few minor change requests.

Mentor is the newest location and lives up to the reputations for great food, great services, ans a great atmosphere like the locations before it! Will most definitely return to a Melt Bar and Grilled in the future!

My husband and I have eaten at the Melt Mentor location three times for lunch, and we have never been disappointed. Be prepared to wait, unless you arrive at opening. On our first visit, we both ordered sandwiches, and it was way too much food. The fries are great, and yes, the coleslaw does have a kick. On our second visit, we decided to split a plate. That game plan worked out much better for us, and we even had room for dessert. The featured bread pudding was to die for! They also offer many great beers to wash all the yumminess down with. The service has been outstanding each time. The Cleveland-centric decor is eclectic and kitschy. Bring your appetite, your patience and your sense of humor and be prepared to have a fun time! It's also worth noting that Melt is socially conscious and donates money to Cleveland Food Bank. What's not to love?

I was told by one of the locals there would be a wait no matter when you stopped by. So I was prepared. My expectation was for a good grilled cheese! When we got there on a Wednesday night - crowded! Very Crowded...the promised wait of 1 hour "unless something at the bar opens up." Within 5 minutes were were seated at the bar and sipping a fine craftbeer. I might add they have an excellent selection of craftbeers - way more than I anticipated.
I opted to have the Cleveland Cheese Steak which included - slow roasted beef, shaved thin, garlic wild mushrooms, sauteed onions and peppers, with Provolone cheese. It was quite good. The fries were hot, crisp, and quite good. The slaw had a nice bite to it but not over powering.
Would I go back - YES. The food is good, reasonably priced, and a great selection of beer. The design and interior were quite cool. Menus on the back of album covers (for those who know what an album is!) were a nice touch.

The Melt is quite the trendy restaurant in our area, so when one opened in Mentor, we were excited. Our first stop in, 2 pm on a Saturday, had an hour wait...we left. Then we went early today and were able to get a seat right away. Very clean, trendy decor with 80's videos playing in the corner, a great big bar and a huge drink menu - must be quite a big bar scene at night. We had a nice waitress, busy, but still attentive. My husband ordered the Cleveland Melt - a lot like a Philly cheesestake on their thick toasted bread - sandwiches come with really great hand cut fries and coleslaw that is made with tangy sauce rather than a creamy sauce - He liked the sandwich, but wished he had added "the extras" that you can add to any sandwich to give it a little more zip. My daughter (8) ordered the Kindergartener - a basic grilled cheese where you can pick the cheese you like - she liked it, could only eat half - came with fries and slaw too. I ordered the soup and salad combo - came with the basic Kindegartener, and I added spinach and sundried tomato pesto - which was really good, and a small salad and the cream of mushroom soup. This soup was not a traditional cream of mushroom - they pureed it, and thus it really wasn't great - somehow by not having the mushrooms whole or just cut into chunks, the taste of the soup was not as good as traditional version. There was plenty of food - we were stuffed. Our bill was about 35.00. So, overall all, not bad - but if we had to have waited an hour, we would have been disappointed.

Highly reccomended by business partners. They were on a 1 1/2 hour wait which we didn't mind for a Friday night. Went to bar to wait and ended eating there. Decent service and cold beers. Sandwich was very greasy and could only eat very little- cole slaw very dry. Not worth all the hype!
