“Great tour, good insight”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

Thanks to our senior National Park Service passes we visited this site at no cost. The house tour, lead by Joan, was very educational. The house is intact with all the original Garfield artifacts. The short video is well worth the time. The homestead is very pretty.

“Well Maintained”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

Garfield's Historic Site is quite well maintained, and the tour of the lavishly appointed house was top notch. Since Garfield was assassinated early in his term, the stories of his brief presidency are rather sparse, but details on how the upper crust lived can be learned by visiting the home and grounds.

“Beautiful house with a great tour”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

I have visited a total of three times since moving to Mentor in 1992: once on a school trip where the tour guide was a descendant of Garfield (and was able to tell personal family stories) and twice more as an adult. The tour is always great and the guides are very knowledgeable. I recommend going for the Behind the Scenes Tour on the second Saturday of the month.

“Well worth the visit”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

Nice site, we took the first tour of the day on Friday, 9/30. Our tour guide, (tall, male) was knowledgeable and friendly. Got a lot of great information. The house, grounds and outbuildings are well maintained, and worth the visit.
