We've been going to Side Cut since I was in diapers and it will always be one of my favorite parks. The trails are nice, there are plenty of places to picnic, bathrooms are available, and the parking is excellent. The park is along the Maumee River and there is good fishing to be had. What I've come to notice, though, is that after school (about 3pm or so) the playground at the park becomes overrun with older children (late elementary school to junior high age). If you have small children (under 5 years old) I'd recommend going to the park in the morning and early afternoon. When taking the smaller children in our family, we found this is the best time to go. There are other children in their age group and there is plenty of space for them all to play. When we went later in the day, there were so many older children that the little ones didn't have space to play and our niece almost got run over by a group of kids playing tag. The park is great for all ages, but it's important to be mindful of who you are taking and what time you are going there.
