We stopped at this restaurant for a Saturday Lunch because we had heard it was on one of the big food TV shows. Our feelings were mixed.

Pros: The Italian salad was a complete A+, very good dressing, salad portion was large enough to share, greens all fresh. The dressing was tasty and I heard others comment the same. The pizza we had was terrific and a mixture of clearly fresh ingredients.

Negatives: Holy Wow the prices of the pizza were not listed in the menu so I figured they were just normal prices. Geeez our bill for 1 salad, 1 pizza, 2 sodas = $38.90 plus tax and yes we tipped. I also found it concerning how many people came in after 2;00 (apparently they closed at 2:00) and folks would stand waiting and then the only waitress would say "sorry we are closed but we do reopen for dinner" At least one couple after coming in sat down and had to hear this story from waitress. No Where could I find a sign on the door stating this. Anyway if this is really your policy have a manager out front telling people.

Wait: Ok Let me tell you the food tasted great but the time it took to prepare our food was soooo long, we waited over 40 minutes to get our pizza. Overall for the lack of atmosphere of this place no manager coming around and just one waitress we most won't go back.

Very busy Friday night but worth the wait. Had garlic bread, traditional pepperoni pizza and a house sub. All were fresh and delicious! Sub and pizza were quite large! Our server was fantastic (the owner) and could not have been more attentive or gracious. Will definitely be back to try more offerings.

Hot off the airing of the Restaurant Impossible episode that was on 8/25/2013 we revisited Aponte's. I must say it was well needed. We started off with the Pizza Dumplings which were not like they were on the show. these were folded like a Crab Rangoon, which was smaller and kind of a let down. I would like to think that the owner would embrace the recipes and styles that have made Robert Irvine a success. It seems that the attitude is still present, a little bit of both so to speak. In all honesty I expected to see on the menu some sort of designation of NEW item or Show special. I would imagine having the type of exposure would trickle over as a staple. Not sure we saw that. on a side note, the place was very warm in the dining room. very ell decorated but the Air Conditioning needed to be much cooler. I saw the owner make an adjustment to the thermostat but not sure if it helped.

The owner needs to decide whether it's going to be a takeout restaurant or sitdown restaurant because the Kitchen does not have capacity to do both simultaneously. We were there for an hour with a simple order and finally the waitress told us they were completely flooded with takeout orders we left 10 bucks on the table and walked out the door and ate elsewhere

I've been reading a lot of reviews more negative than positive since the June 2013 makeover by Restaurant Impossible. We have been there before the makeover and after. Yes, the menu's been whittled down, and the prices went up, but Tony needed to do something drastic. The place is now beautiful -- BEFORE the makeover, it was badly in need of repairs and needed a good cleaning, was dingy and dark, and you could see right through to the kitchen, where the outside door remained open and we had to swat away flies the entire meal. The only problem we had AFTER the makeover is that our table was literally 2-3 inches from the next one, and we felt like the people at the next table were on top of us; but the shape of the space is so small and hard to work with, there's not much choice to do it any other way. The prices still seem reasonable.
