The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We can not say enough about the complimentary breakfast at the Historic Kirkwood House there. The food was wonderful and the house and gardens were lovely. What a great way to start the day! We would highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed at 5 B&B's during our vacation and this INN was number 5 of 5. It is not really a B&B in the ordinary sense of theterm. It is a regular, 2 story motel with a historical house in the adjacent lot. No one stays in the historical house. It is strictly for breakfast. You find this out after you arrive. So we slept in our Holiday Inn-sized room wi the Williamsburg decorations and the Memphis style (original HI Hdqtrs) air conditioner. In the morning, we went to breakfast which put the nail in the coffin, as it was a buffet of the Hampton Inn variety, complete with plastic plates and plastic knives, fork and spoons. And nothing like that coffee from styrofoam cups. So it's not a romantic getaway, and its no brek from the oridinary. We did make a point of enjoying a walk through the gardens however, that was not enough for us to return here.

My wife and I really like the location of the Inn as it was close to the Kings Island Amusement Park, restaurants, shopping centers and other businesses. We liked the complementary homemade breakfast served in the restored house next to the Inn ... but what we liked the most was the grounds were well kept and the flower/garden area was very romantic and wonderful to just relax and enjoy the scenery. The rooms were clean well kept ... and the owner and other employees went out of there way to ensure our stay was what we expected ... "fabulous". My wife and I will definitely stay there when we return o that area.

I spent one night at the Kirkwood Inn while visiting Lebanon, Ohio and neighboring towns. The Inn is pristine clean, pool is crystal clear and clean. The rooms are decorated in a very warm; welcoming manner. The complimentary breakfast in the beautifully restored Century house was delicious. The house itself has been restored with loving care and decorated in it's original period decor. I recommend this Inn for a restful, quiet evening. Also enjoyed the short, but beautiful, walk through the garden and surrounding areas. This is above a 5 star Inn.

I contacted this hotel about its accomodations for same-sex partners, hoping to talk with them to make sure that they were okay with us visiting, and inquiring as to whether they thought this would be an issue, as I am familiar with the area and it is somewhat conservative. I got no response via e-mail. I sent a follow-up e-mail to the same address. I got no response. I sent a THIRD e-mail under a different name just asking about general room availability with no mention of my partner, and received a response that night indicating they had availability, would like to have me stay, and please confirm the dates. Needless to say, I won't be staying at this place.

We often stay at the Kirkwood to visit family and nearby events. The service is ALWAYS excellent. A breakfast is provided in a historic home that adds to the pleasure of the stay. We recommend this hotel whenever you are in southeast ohio - especially in Lebanon or Mason!
