This is a fairly inexpensive hotel will a good location. Do not expect luxury, of course, but the room we had was clean, spacious, and had a refrigerator and the other amenities you would expect. The service was friendly, and the breakfast was fairly good, a bit above what could be expected for the price. Recommended.

We stay a few times a year. Love the boat dock! If you need the Ritz Carleton this isn't for you. If you want old fashioned good service, clean and very adequate room, convenience, friendliness in a small town atmosphere, it would be hard to beat anywhere. Family owned for many, many years. You keep any business going that long, you're doing something right! We enjoy it immensely.

Room Tip: Left side rooms (double bed) are great value. Back side upper level best views.

Back side of building 2nd floor has porch & river view. Most of the rest are looking at a parking lot. Filthy furniture (see pic), cracked tub, rusty shower curtain rod. Clean towels, soiled (ICK) sheets. My room didn't look like it had been updated since approximately Y2K, which is when the 27" Zenith tube-style TV dated from.

If the big dog-friendly lawn, river view, dock, and the fact that you can drink beer and smoke on the porch are important to you, this place might be up your alley. To me, the fact that the room was furnished with stuff that a frat house would throw out, that the dock was hard to get to because there was a wino sitting on the stairs making his way through a 1/2 gallon jug of who-knows-what, and that the porch was populated with people drinking beer and smoking kind wrecked the experience.

Room Tip: Get something on the second floor on the back if you want a view and some quiet.

We stopped at this hotel after driving seven hours around 10pm and thought it looked like an okay place to sleep before getting back on the road for another long day of driving. Everything was going fine; the lady at the front desk was friendly and the room appeared to be in okay condition. Despite checking for them, within two hours we discovered bed bugs when one was found crawling on the hood of my sweatshirt - the experience still gives me shivers. We found a second one in between the two mattress (make sure you check here; I didn't think to), and a third on the headboard (which wasn't there before). I called the front desk to check out and at midnight, we rushed to get our stuff out of the room and back in car so we could leave. We checked ours things as we loaded them into the car but we have no idea if the bugs laid eggs and our things had to sit in the car with us until we could get back home. We had to throw everything in the backyard to be washed, vacuumed, tied in bags or separated for laundry. This has been a very traumatizing experience and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Be careful where you stay and very thorough when checking for bed bugs.

Room Tip: Get one without bed bugs.

I would like to thank the guest for quickly pointing out the problem. This is our first time dealing with this but the response is straight forward.

The bed bugs were found on a Saturday evening and the room was inspected by Orkin pest control on the following Monday. That room was given a comprehensive treatment by Orkin on Wednesday. As a precaution, the rooms on either side of it were also treated. The rooms that were treated are in a one story section so there were no rooms above or below for the problem to spread to. I checked the room 2 separate times myself before before I made it available to rent again.
