“Extremely Disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

We will never return there again! We come to Lake Erie once a year for a weekend getaway. When we plan to eat dinner, we really do not like spending good money for something that is absolutely tasteless. The prime rib for $14.99 had no flavor at all and came with a half-cooked baked potato and a small amount of green beans. My husband's meal was even worse though. He got the perch sandwich for $12.99. The perch was extremely small -- like three bites on a small bun and came with French fries. Again, no flavor. We also got two cokes, which was the only good thing. We said we should have gone to McDonalds and we would have enjoyed it more. The owners should have been absolutely embarrassed to serve that fish on a bun for that price. Do yourself a favor and stay away! We wasted $40!

“Good Food & Good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Fantastic place off the beaten path to enjoy a drink and some delicious food if you visit Marblehead, Catawba Island, or Put in Bay. One of my go to places each time we visit the area.

“New Ownership doesn't have there act together”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

The new owners tore out walls and ruined the look. They never have a sufficient number of servers, so be prepared to wait for a table...even though half the place is empty. Food has gone downhill when the new owners took over.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

This place seems like it should be a great place, but sadly no. As you drive up, the outdoor seating and bar suggest something good. But the layout inside is odd and rather spartan. The bar is big and open, though, and inviting. The entire place was practically empty when we came in for a Sunday evening dinner. The service was OK - no one was overtly friendly or welcoming. The manager wandered the place our entire time there, but I never saw him smile or interact with anyone. The food was disappointing and definitely overpriced for what it was. The beer selection very ordinary. Our order of wings was simply weird - not very tasty and covered with some sort of pasty sauce. The area is just begging for a friendly, lively place, with good beer and good home cooked food. From the road, the Crow's Nest offers hope, but in the end, no such luck.

“Terrible service, hit-n-miss food, great potential- new management desperately needed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013

Dined with a party of 8 (6 adults 2 children) on Saturday night. Had no reservation, was told it would be an hour wait (that was expected). Ok, fine, we will sit on patio & grab a few drinks from bar. Bartender was slammed & seemed overwhelmed. (hello manager!) When the bartender was FINALLY able to take our order (after making eye contact several times, but didn't even say hello), she was extremely rude & unpleasant. (Honey, smile you work in customer service!). After 30 minutes of waiting we tried again to go to bar for another round of drinks, bartender was much quicker & attentive 2nd time, but still very unpleasant. When we were finally seated, our waiter was much friendlier/attentive. We first ordered 2 appetizers- buffalo dip & chips/salsa. Buffalo dip was fine, but chips/salsa-straight from the tostito's bag/jar. Next, the waiter delivered salads that came with entrees. Salads appeared to be Dole romaine lettuce mix from the local grocery that was plated & put in refrigerator at beginning of shift. (How long does it take to cut up lettuce & plate a salad?). The entrees at our table included, 'surf & turf' (prime rib & lobster tail), lobster tails, crab cakes (listed as appetizer on menu), lobster mac-n-cheese, sirloin & tilapia. No complaints or raves with the tilapia or prime rib. Lobster mac-n-cheese (according to my sister in law) was "sooooo good". Lobster tails were prepared correctly & tasted great, but were a little small for an entree. Crab cakes had a very strange texture (too much mayo?, crab was shredded which was unusual as well). Sirloin was fine, after being sent back to kitchen for being under cooked. Overall experience was not great, will probably never return. This place has great potential if customer service was better & menu was executed better. Also, not my personal experience, but couple that sat behind us was charged 4$ for a side salad (menu stated 2$ charge). When couple questioned server about bill, server responded she charged 4$ because the salad was ordered as an appetizer. (WHATTT??) The manager also refused to change the charge. (once again, poor management).
