When I first heard an Indian restaurant was opening in Mansfield, I was excited, but also a bit nervous for the owners; Mansfield’s not exactly known for having culinarily adventurous folks. Saffron’s continued success in the area is probably the best proof of the food’s deliciousness. Every dish I’ve tried at Saffron has been excellent. If you’re new to Indian food, come in for the lunch buffet to sample some of the dishes they offer and stick to mild or medium until you get a sense of their heat scale. In terms of dishes, specifically, I would recommend the Paneer Pakora, Chicken or Lamb Vindaloo, the Mixed Grill Platter, the Chicken Korma, and the Rogan Josh—can you tell we frequent Saffron regularly? They have great specialty drinks, a 2 for $25 deal, and are located right downtown. The only negative I could add is that the service is sometimes slow, but everyone is so friendly and the food is so good that we usually don’t mind the wait. Plus my daughter loves watching the Bollywood-style music videos.
