Owner description: Located in Madison, Ohio about an hour east of Cleveland, Debonne Vineyards is now the largest estate winery in Ohio, boasting over 175 acres of vines. Debonne Vineyards central location in the Grand River Valley wine region benefits from a climate moderated by the thermal effects of eastern Lake Erie. Our family commitment to excellence begins in the vineyards and is reflected in the quality of our premium Debonne Vineyards varietals and the original Chalet Debonne blends. Debonne Vineyards is also the first Ohio winery to open up a micro-brewery, Cellar Rats Brewery.

My wife, son, daughter-in-law and I visited this winery on Sunday, September 1. It is a fun place especially for two couples or more. It is also family friendly and the kids can run around the great open fields. We really have not eaten here but enjoy the wine and snacks. In my opinion, Ohio wine can't compete with France or California but I don't think they try. It is more like everyday wine to be drunk and enjoyed. There was a band playing and the mood was festive. A great place to visit.

Debonne Vineyards is a great family destination. My family and I have spent many hours here drinking wine (and great grape juice) and eating cheese, playing Bocce, watching the hot air balloons or RC planes or listening to the great local music. We have built some wonderful memories with the help of the friendly staff.
The wine is very good (award winning!) and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Beautiful grounds and tasting room. Tour bus accomodations often mean inferios product but that is not the case here. They have numerous reds and whites worthy of a taste, and we purhcased several bottles to take home and enjoy.

Debonne has done a nice job with their property creating a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy their wine, beer and food. This is not a formal restaurant it is more of a take out with a twist. I like what they have done to make it easy for everyone. When you arrive, you give them a credit card to start a tab and wherever you go in the place, you give them the number, they have assigned you, and it just applies to your bill. You also have the cash option. The wine was very good, and they have many summer drink options. The food was good and they had a band playing, and you could get a tethered balloon ride. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. They are a little expensive, but I attribute it to paying for the whole experience.

We've been to Debonne Vineyards many many times, and usually have a great time! With no plans for the 4th of July my husband and I decided to spend the day out in Geneva at the wineries. We got to Debonne around 12:30pm, it wasn't busy at all, but then again they had just opened 30 minutes before. We were promptly greeted at the little ordering window and ordered two tasting trays. The woman explained them and was very sweet. We got a nice table outside and enjoyed our wine. They were all very tasty! Slowly business started to pick up.. we went back inside to get some more water and a beer tasting tray. The bar was pretty busy, but we were served fairly quickly & went back outside. After that we decided it was time to eat, and we went inside to place our order.. we waited at the bar for at least 20 minutes, no one ever said "we'll be with you in a moment," or "hang on just a second." Nothing, it was as if we were invisible. It was busy, but not that busy. We eventually went over to another area and waited there 10 more minutes til someone finally noticed us, we had had enough by then and decided to just pay our tab and leave. We were a little disappointed in how our visit ended, we wanted some more wine & something to eat, instead we left & went somewhere else that was more accommodating. We've never had that problem at Debonne, maybe they were just understaffed & overwhelmed because of the holiday, typically we have a wonderful time & love Debonne!
