Description: Ferrari's Little Italy & Bakery is located in the heart of Madeira, across from Madeira Kroger. Ferrari's is an authentic Italian Restaurant featuring Northern & Southern fare with excellent value & generous portions. Ferrari's has been operating for over twelve years and is family owned and operated by the Bassano family. The restaurant has two private dining rooms available for private parties, rehearsal dinners, corporate meetings, or family gatherings. We also have an outside patio dining area that is beautifully landscaped with an Italian mural and a stone lighted waterfall. Ferrari's offers full service dining, carry-out, and catering, with an on-premise Italian bakery and Italian grocery. At Ferrari's we feature family style dining. Our portions are large enough to share, they often border on the surreal. We invite you to enjoy the vera cucina piccola italia, the true cooking of Little Italy.

Ferrari's Little Italy is a neighborhood gem that we'd prefer to keep to ourselves but a recent birthday dinner celebration with good friends compelled us to write this long overdue post. Convenient to Indian Hill, Kenwood, Montgomery, Blue Ash Ferrari's Little Italy cannot be beat. On this uncrowded Wednesday evening we had the best of all worlds. 1/2 price on select bottles of wine (all excellent). Something in every price range for every palate. Currently Tuesday and Wednesday evening are 1/2 price wine specials. What's not to love about this although I will point out their wines are not overpriced on a regular evening and they also offer other drink specials other evenings of the week if alcohol is high on your priorities. If you've never dined @ Ferrari's you don't realize the homey restaurant has so much to offer. It is easy to be seduced the minute you walk in the door. Don't wait until you leave to load up on fresh baked breads or other treats. Their foccacia's are to die for and the italian cookies and other treats are all excellent and an outstanding value and if you wait until after dinner your treats may be gone. Walking into the restaurant you pass through the carryout/bakery/wine/gelato area. Your senses will be pleasantly aroused by wonderful aromas! We are always greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. This particular evening we had a party of 9 to celebrate a birthday so we booked by calling. Requested a quiet area of the restaurant as it is comprised of many different separte dining areas, nooks and alcoves. We scored a great table in one of the rear rooms (yes you do have to walk past the kitchen and wait staff but this is just another aromatic temptation). On this evening the gas burning fireplace with flames gently flickering welcomed us as we were seated at our white clothed table with cutlery wrapped in bright red linen napkins, candles flickering on the table. Our servery Jimmy couldn't have been nicer and more efficient even though he had a few other tables. Waters were poured, wine specials announced and menus shared. We weren't rushed (and never are). We love Ferrari's because they don't try to upsell you. Portions are huge and are meant to be shared. The menu is well organized. It's fun to be able to share dishes if dining with friends or family and many entree's come as single or "grande" servings (usually enough for 3 or more). Jimmy gave us time to get settled, brought our wine selections and competently reviewed a number of evening specials - all sounding delicious. We shared a calamari appetizer which was done to perfection and served with a tasty light marinara. Our dining companions had recently been to Italy and one had never been to Ferrari's and we were already hearing him sing their praises. We followed with a grande Ferrari's insalata which was perfection....pine nuts, gorgonzola cheese, dried cranberries all tossed in a light balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh baked breads served with olive oils went down way to easily and we tried hard to say no so as not to spoil our appetites. Three of us shared a blackened shrimp, scallop, pasta special. Outstanding and cooked to perfection. We shared some with others at the table and still had leftovers to take home. Others had shrimp capri, eggplant parmesan (served with homemade marinara and rigatoni) and lasagna. Everyone agreed all dishes were excellent.
We asked in advance if we could provide our own birthday cake from BonBonerie and were told absolutely. Jimmy our server brought plates, cutlery and cut the cake exquisitely after happy birthday wishes were sung! Coffee and tea rounded out our feast. When we dine @ Ferarri's we feel that we are enjoying a home cooked Italian meal prepared in our grandmother's home (if we were Italian and had grandparents who were gourmet cooks). Nothing is frozen or overcooked. Pasta is served al dente, food is hot and portions are beyond generous. The website is easy to navigate and makes it easy to even plan your meal in advance (or if you want to carry out) with all prices included (no baiting and switching). Speaking of carryout....3 reserved spaces for quick in and out for those picking up dinners on the go. This isn't Olive Garden Italian. We have had far more expensive Italian fare in greater Cincinnati and had far less enjoyment for the dollars spent. We know why we keep coming back and hope you enjoy Ferrari's as much as we do. Whether you decide to share a gourmet pizza, pasta dish or one of their incredible desserts or eat it all yourself you will wish you'd discovered Ferrari's sooner. We'll be back sooner than later! Spring, summer and fall offer outdoor patio dining and a little bar tucked out of the way make it easy to have a drink if you're waiting for latecomers or just want to relax without a meal.

Ferraris is a great place to go after a movie with friends or on a romantic evening with your sweetie or with your kids or by yourself ! Did I leave any occassion out? Seriously, great food service and atmosphere. I have been there three time in the past year and each time tried something different . Never a disappointment.Wine list is outstanding and the servers are all quite friendly but unassuming. Seating outside in the summer is a real plus. If you arent too full after a great meal get a cupcake they are worth every calorie!

Just enjoyed my birthday dinner at Ferrari's! I am never disappointed. My favorite is the Caesar Arimatico. This is a Caesar salad with their calamari on top. The small is huge and the large will serve 3-4 people. The food is always terrific! Also, you want to ask for their extended beer list. Wonderful craft beers for only $4-6 each!

Food was mediocre- like Olive Garden. No bakery or desserts. Maybe this place used to be good-I don't know- but it's terrible now.

Cincinnati tries to boast a line up of "authentic," "homemade," or "old world" Italian restaurants. Many of them are adequate (especially if you aren't Italian, or know of someone who is), but Ferrari's is one of the best with personable service, reasonable prices and delicious food. Plus, you can skip dessert off the menu, because there is a bakery right on-site.

The hostess promptly escorted us to our table and we were cheerfully greeted from the bakery as we passed by. The decor is charming and our server, Debra, was outstanding. She paid attention to the little details and asked questions in order to offer suggestions. It was my first time back in 10 years (out of the area for a while) and my date's first trip to Ferrari's. It was as yummy as I remember and we will be back. We breezed in for lunch, before shopping in Kenwood. The restaurant was moderately busy and the smells coming from the bakery were intoxicating.

Our lunch tab totaled out at $43.40 pre tip. We ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($10.75) which was nearly perfect and more than enough for two to share. I had the Parmesan Chicken Sandwich which was savory and sloppy ($10.50) and it came with a side of pasta salad (and it really was pasta on a bed of greens with generous chunks of artichokes and cauliflower). My companion enjoyed an Italian Sandwich, again served with pasta salad ($9.50). We were so envious of each other's sandwiches that we switched half way through our meal. We both had two soft drinks, too ($2.25 each).

Debra was attentive and paced out our meal service perfectly. We were never wanting for a refill on soft drinks or the waters. A word of caution...the menu describes all the lunch offerings (sandwiches and wraps), but it doesn't tell you that they are served with a pasta salad side. Otherwise, we would never have ordered a side of pasta salad ($5.50) to split. This was my only issue with service, why didn't the server notice this and mention that sandwiches were served with a pasta salad side?

Our meal was more than we could handle and ample leftovers, left with us, along with a couple loaves of bread (buy the day old deliciousness for a bargain of $2.00 a loaf). We selected an Elephant Ear confection from the pastry case to split. It was a little brittle and underwhelming, but that goes to show you - always get the brownie (which looked amazing and was as big as my head).

We will be back to Ferrari's and it won't take another 10 years, especially when craving a little slice of Italy in Cincinnati.
