Stayed here on two separate nights while traveling over the long Labor Day weekend. Overall it's a nice hotel, not too far (<3 miles) from the OH turnpike, with gas stations and restaurants conveniently located across the street, and a good breakfast. On our first night we had a room with 2 double beds, which are comfortable, but just too small for 2 adults who are used to a King-sized bed at home. This room also did not include a refrigerator, so it was necessary to get lots of ice from the ice machine to keep stuff cool in our cooler overnight. Based on this experience I booked a King one-room suite for the 2nd night, so that we'd have a bigger bed (at least for 2 of us). Upon check-in I was told that they didn't have this room type available, so they put us into a 2-room King suite for the same price. Nice! This type of room does include the extra amenities of refrigerator and microwave. Also enjoyed the use of the indoor pool and hot-tub each night, although on the 2nd night the chemicals in the hot-tub were so strong that it made my eyes sting. The manager explained that this was due to a malfunction in the automatic chemical dispensing system, which got corrected as soon as someone reported it (of course it takes a while for the excess chemicals to disperse). Would definitely stay here again on future trips through the Cleveland area.

It's a good place to stay as a "stop over' on the way to see family in P.A. It's not fancy, but definitely affordable and has all that you need for an average stay.. and the suite allows us to have 2 adjoining rooms for our family of four. Our only reason for rating it 3 stars is that we had an issue with our fridge still having food in it from last guest (uggh). We arrived too late so we didn't want anyone to come clean it, but we asked if they could come get the take out containers left in it. Unfortunately noone came upstairs to pick them up off outdoor hall floor, which means they were out there all night. :( Also, our door key didn't work initially, which was hard late at night. These were oversights on their part, and they did apologize and took money off of our bill for the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, and they made good for them. We have stayed there many times, using this hotel as our "half way point" frequently, so we have had many "uneventful" stays there as well...

I've stayed here a few times when driving across the country and agree with another reviewer that a 2 room suite for $100 is good value. However, the furnishings are a bit dated and this time in particular I had concerns about cleanliness - the bathroom floors and bathtubs weren't very clean, and the trash cans in the room hadn't been emptied prior to our arrival. I also noticed the train noise mentioned by other reviewers. Overall, this is a convenient, inexpensive place to stay when traveling with a dog, but it could use a bit of improvement. If you do stay, I recommend delivery pizza from Romeo's for a great dinner.

This was our first stay at a La Quinta. We were traveling with our dog and had heard they were a good pick. Generally speaking, they were. But as I recall, we weren't in a very convenient room considering we'd have to take the dog out and of course, we were praying she wouldn't have an accident on the way out. There was practically no green space for her, except in the back parking lot, which is dark and scary at night. There was a guy standing around smoking and staring at the dog and me while I was trying to get her to do her business. When I got back in, I told my husband that he had to do any after-dark walkings of the pup. It didn't feel safe. It was also, on a Friday night, extremely loud. Other guests were coming and going until at least 1 a.m. and the slamming doors and voices in the hall didn't make for a good night's rest for us OR the dog. We stayed in a different La Quinta on the way back through (La Quinta Cleveland Airport North) and had a better experience so we would prefer that property over Macedonia in the future.

When we travel as a family we try to take our pet, and La Quinta is our first pick. This trip took us through Cleveland so we stopped at the Macedonia location. The room was big and comfortable, but did not feature a refrigerator or microwave. The double bed was softer than I prefer, but clean. The bathroom was sub-par, with peeling paint and spotty cleanliness. The water had a sulphur smell at the tap and was not drinkable. Then the train rumbled by...close...and frequently. We didn't get much sleep. We won't stay at this location on our way back.

We stayed here twice this summer, on our way to and from Canada, and we had a positive experience both times. Comfortable clean rooms, excellent price compared to most other hotels we looked at in the Cleveland area, easy access from the highway, dog-friendly. Nice neighborhood with many quick restaurant options nearby. Breakfast at hotel was average (waffles, pastries, coffee, juice, fruit). We'll stay here again when passing through Cleveland.
