Had a wonderful time at The Happy Grape in Lexington tonight. I am visiting from Hawaii and John, our server/owner was wonderful!! The atmosphere was so surprising pleasant. I didn't expect that since it is located next to a grocery store. But what a nice place to relax. I would highly recommend The Happy Grape.

The Happy Grape is such a plus in the community. Not only do they have great food and wine choices, but the atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasant. They also are huge supporters of the local art community and frequently display the work of local artists! Worth a trip when you are in the area.

Went to a wine tasting there and found several we liked; need to go back again and try out their happy hour.

Does this review get posted with Mansfield also? Nothing special about the wine , decent selection, but their limited menu food keeps getting better. And they usually have a good crowd. Lots of teachers. Some live music, but the best is the food lately. Last month, they started having one soup from scratch nightly. Always good. Big mug with french bread for $6. Tonight they had what they called lamb lollipops. Two small legs of lamb like standing rib, on a bed of greens with a side of thai dressing. $6. Two of these would make a steak house restaurant proud, less potato. Then the owner brought a creme brule for us to try. Wow. Carmelized top, small serving in a little jar, that would have been $5. As always they have decent flatbreads and cheese plates, wedge salad and a chocolate desert. They always have several $5 wines to try too. This is our to-go place. Maybe they should get table cloths and candles and make part of it a fine restaurant, which the county sorely lacks.

It is a very well done wine room and bar. The food choices are excellent. The wines are reasonably priced from five dollars and up. Their wine "Flights" are a great bargain. They have a big selection of "Craft" beers. inaddition They have a full bar with a great selection of your favorite liquors. It is really a comfortable place to take your significant other, and/or meet with your close friends. The music is good. The lighting is perfect. The staff is very professional and friendly. I would make this a regular stop.
