“great update”

ale house 1890 is not the minit bar....its the ale house 1890....went there with a buddy during the Lancaster festival a few weeks ago...place looked great...and very crowded...glad they got the renovation done in time for the festival...had a band ready to play outside on the patio, but light misty rain kept things under wrap while we were there...liked the old minit bar...think i'll like the new place better...will miss some of the atmosphere, though

“We ate here the day after it opened”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

This place needs to "age" a little. The look is raw brick walls, renovated factor and is nice. Music absolutely does not reflect the clientele (middle aged, well heeled, artsy) but rather the 20 something servers. So the atmosphere was discordant. Food has promise...hamburgers are hand crafted but they are too small for the bun! French fries were really good but I suspect this is because the oil is only one day old. Check it out again in a few weeks. And, even though they displayed home-canned looking jars of pickles at the hostess stand, there were none on my burger. No take away boxes available, nor non-glass drinking vessels for littles. Outdoor patio was closed on a sunny lovely day.
