Featured on several national television programs and in countless publications, Melt puts a new spin on traditional bar food in a setting that is cool, fun and very unique. In addition to Melt's signature grilled cheese sandwiches, many vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options, appetizers, salads and desserts are also available. Patrons may dine in, order take-out, or speak to a staff member about catering their next event. Melt Bar and Grilled is an independently owned and operated restaurant group based in Cleveland, Ohio. Melt was created in 2006 by owner/founder Matt Fish with the simple goal of providing great food and awesome craft beers in a very fun and unique atmosphere. Melt has grown from its humble small storefront beginnings to multiple regional locations with more organic growth planned. Melt continues to grow and prosper because of The Melt Family: The amazing staff and management team. Thank you and welcome to Melt!

I used to eat at Melt all the time when it was just the one location. I loved the "wake n bacon" and the "parmageddon." I moved away and hadn't eaten there in several years. I moved back and have eaten there twice since.

The bread is thicker, there's less stuff in the sandwich, the bread is hard and stale, the fries are black and chewy, and they don't give you coleslaw anymore.

Melt sucks now, the owner sold out, and they lost one customer for life. It makes me sad to see a great place lose so much integrity.

I'm a cheese lover. A serious cheese lover. As in, I've never met a cheese that didn't have me swooning over it within moments of our acquaintance. If I wasn't such a sucker for the oooey gooey goodness that is cheese, I'd be at least two sizes smaller than I am.

That said, MELT is the perfect example of how to do cheese ALL WRONG. Despite all the phenomenal reviews, my two experiences at MELT were quite enough.

First, it starts off with an insane wait time. Anywhere from an hour to three is what what you will spend to experience the hype. What about all those empty tables over there? Nevermind those. Pretend you don't see them.I think it may actually be strategy. Who isn't hungry for just about anything after waiting 3 hours just to be seated.

When you are finally seated, starving, you will peruse the menu with great anticipation and read what sounds like savory and eclectic combinations. When placing your order, beware, any add ons come with a significant cost - $2.50 for two slices of bacon, $7.00 for a couple of shrimp.

Once served you will find these aren't "gourmet" grilled cheese sandwiches. They are everyday sandwiches smooshed between ultra thick bread that is soggy on one side with the addition of as much cheese as they can possibly squeeze into it's four corners. Think buffalo chicken sandwich with 14 slices of cheese on it.

After your wallet is raped you'll head home and wonder why you wasted 3 hours plus the rest of your evening in the bathroom for a left over sandwich with a disgusting amount of gag added to it.

Great service, great food, the wait time was a little long but it was worth the wait. A pleasurable experience. Will return again next time in in Lakewood.

I like this place but don't understand people's obsession with it and the long wait to be seated. Therefore, I usually order take out. Sandwiches are huge and come with fries. Gourmet grilled cheese in a number if unique varieties. A thin couple could easily just split one order. Price is very reasonable.

We felt welcome immediately. The place was eclectic and funky. The menu...almost too difficult to choose. We started with the fried mozzarella, mainly because of the habanero mango jam and the balsamic fig reduction. It hit on all cylinders; crunchy, sweet, spicy and cheesy. I selected the chicken parm sandwich...yum! Crispy breaded chicken with a sun dried tomato pesto in a grilled cheese. My friend selected the cheesesteak, which she loved. We couldn't eat more than half given the size and now have some great leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The service was on point. We would come back in a heartbeat.
