“Seasonal exhibits worth the look”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

A Christmas creche display in December numbering in the hundreds is an amazing sight. Other art exhibits are equally impressive. A pilgrimage destination to be sure; but people of all faiths will be interested.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

I have now been to Kirtland 5 times and never get tired of this place. It is so rich with history and you feel a special spirit as you take a tour of the sights. The LDS Church has done an amazing job of restoring each building to its original look with furniture from the early 1800's. The missionaries are rich with knowledge of the early Church. Visit the Morley Farm just one mile up the road if you have the time as well as the stone quarry 2 miles past the temple.

“Had an amazing spiritual and enjoyable experience.”
Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Just finished taking 150 youth through historic Kirtland from the ages of 14 to 18. They accommodated us perfectly splitting us in the small groups and the youth and myself enjoyed every minute of it. If you haven't been to historic Kirtland this is a must see church history tour. If you're not a member of the LDS churc it is still a very informative and enjoyable tour. Some of those youth going with us were not members of the LDS faith and still really enjoyed their time in Kirkland.

“Loved The Spiritual History Lesson”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

The LDS Church has a wonderful History center with several beautifully restored buildings and a small community of historic business and homes. They offer a wonderful FREE tour of the beautiful grounds with videos and digital history and the sister missionaries are knowledgeable and informative. They said that many "tourists" come to Kirtland to see the Kirtland Temple (which is not owned by the LDS Church) and then they don't even know about The Historic Kirtland Center. Both the Temple and the Historic center are well worth the visit. The Center is free, the Temple is a $3 donation.Plan on a few hours for each site. Take the 30 mile trip out to the Johnson farm. It is well worth the trip. I asked the missionaries if it was worth the trip? They said that they would walk the 30 miles if they had to, so we went and sure enough, it was worth the trip. We didn't even have to walk (like i'm sure many of the early pioneers had to).

“Loved it!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Our family of 9 made this one of our stops. Very interesting to see these early LDS church history sites. The sister missionaries were very sweet. Were very nice to include our 3 and 6 year old grand children and make them feel important.
