The Water's Edge Retreat is advertised on their website as the place for an executive be de-stress. They were right. Beth and Tim care about all their guests to ensure they have a great, relaxing visit.

We had a very nice sailing trip one day, with Tim and Beth being our experienced crew, as well as humor.

The morning breakfasts were always varied and excellent. Some examples included eggs benedict, german potato pancakes, fruit parfaits, almond pancakes, chili omlettes, and portobello omelettes. There was also a different pastry each morning.

The hor douvres in the evening were so-so, some cheese, crackers, and pepperoni. BUT there was always two different kinds of wine available.

We spent quite a bit of time on their private dock, enjoying watching the boats and the water as well as reading.

We both highly recommend this retreat to anyone who needs to get away! We will be back.

What a fabulous place to stay!! My husband and I were celebrating our 20 year anniversary and we had a great time. The B and B was perfect. The breakfasts were delicious. The wine and cheese in the afternoon plus the gourmet brownies in the evening were a nice added touch. The hosts were very hospitable, friendly and welcoming. We had a fun time on our sailing excursion. We made good use of the complimentary bicycles and explored the island. I can't say enough about this wonderful B and B...we will definitely be back.

The "Water's Edge Retreat" on Kelley's Island Ohio is the perfect place to stay if you want a restful, vacation and excellent service. My husband and I recently spent several nights at this Lake Erie island bed and breakfast and plan to go back when we need a quiet peaceful vacation. The bed and breakfast is beautifully decorated in victorian style with a large porch overlooking the lake. The breakfast is fantastic and presented beautifully. Attire is casual and the atmosphere is one of beauty and relaxation. The hosts, Beth and Tim were sincere in their hospitality and provide guests with a feeling of "home". This is a very special place.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this B&B. Although the B&B's owners were away, their weekend hosts were fabulously welcoming and accommodating. (For example, one of our party is vegan, and the hosts went out of their way to make sure she had plenty of choice.) This B&B's location is both centrally-located and far enough for the waterfront hubbub to afford plenty of peace and quiet. The rooms were clean and beautiful; the beds, comfortable. We only have two complaints (and they are minor):
1) Our room was far too bright, with only a gauzy curtain for an east-facing sliding glass door.
2) While there are bikes available for use and serviceable, they've been very poorly maintained. Of the six or seven available, there were only four that could be ridden, and with difficulty. The rear wheels wobbled pretty badly and the seats were excruciatingly uncomfortable. (One was actually in danger of falling off at any moment.) On our last day, the chain popped from one and could not be remounted; lucky for us, this happened about a quarter mile from the B&B, so the walk wasn't a problem. If bikes are going to be offered, best if they're maintained.
Other than those quibbles, however, we would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this B&B to others.

First time on Kelleys Island - it was great from the Ferry over, to the comfortable beds (stayed in the private room through the kitchen - very nice & quiet), to the view, fun golf carts, massages, whirlpool, great sailboat rides and absolutely fantastic breakfasts 3 days in a row. Tim & Beth were great. Very relaxing & romantic stay. Absolutely Loved It!!

Although I thought I was lucky to call at the last minute and get a room for one night, now I know why there is a two-night minimum! We loved every minute we were there, but hated to leave after only one night. The food was fabulous, the people welcoming and entertaining, the feel was like home (without kids!), but the location (and how the hosts have featured it) by far was the best thing about this magical place. The sound of the waves was so soothing and we could have stayed forever. Thanks a million. We'll be back- for two nights!

We visited with Beth and Tim as usual again this year. We have been coming to visit them for at least ten years now and will return as long as we are able to. This visit was just the two of us to relax for a while. Last June we visited with the whole family to celebrate my dad's birthday. He really enjoyed the sailing. Tim even took my brother-in-law along on the sail even though he was not a guest. We have always found Beth and Tim to be the best of hosts.
I tell people that my only complaints are the loudeness of the crickets and surf at night, plus the sun waking me up in the morning. When these are the only complaints, you have found a great place to visit.
