A "Cheese"tastic experience that you will walk away from with enough leftovers to feed a village. The Dad's Meatloaf Dinner is so messy and full of flavor. Be prepared to wait but they have a sandwich for everyone and you will not be disappointed.

Awesome atmosphere made even better by unique and HUGE selections of mac and cheese sandwiches. Prices are more than reasonable for what you get.

“Grilled Cheese Sandwiches - any way you can imagine”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Two of us visited this pub & restaurant late on a Friday. It was busy but we were seated right away. We ordered drinks and took our time perusing the myriad of menu selections. I enjoyed the Half Combo - half a grilled cheese sandwich (customized), a cup of soup or chili, and half a salad. It was perfect! My partner had the Wake & Bacon (egg and bacon on grilled cheese) with fries. It was more than she could consume, so we took is as a carryout and made a fine lunch after warming it in a microwave then next day.

“They made changes---and none of them are good!!!”
Reviewed November 17, 2013

I have been going to Melt since they first opened in Lakewood several years ago. It has always been one of my favorites and my husband and I love going. Until this weekend when I met up with friends and learned that they changed the menu! Not only have they changed the menu with many of my personal favorites gone (summer and winter chicken!) but the ingredients on everything else have changed as well. The side salad used to come with delicious fresh veggies---green and red pepper slices and tasty fresh greens. Not any more! Just lettuce and sun dried tomatoes...even the dressing didn't taste as fresh as before! One of the girls who was with me said she heard from someone who works there that they have changed all of their ingredients as a cost-cutting measure (example--no more grilled chicken, only pulled chicken---that apparently comes prepackaged----YUCK.). Melt has expanded significantly since their first restaurant in Lakewood and sadly it looks like they have sold out and decided to cut quality to increase their profit. In the end, it will probably be their demise. I for one, will not be going back. Sad to see such a great place with delicious fresh ingredients turn into a typical "chain" type restaurant.

“Good Food, Great Prices”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

If you like beer and you like cheese, this is your place. They have a very extensive craft beer list that is extremely reasonably priced. I had the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter from Great Lakes Brewery that was $3 a bottle and very tasty.

For food, had the tomato garlic soup, very tasty and large portion, bowl is only $3.50. For my meal, I had the Big Popper, basically a deep fried grilled cheese with jalepenos in it, and the bartender convinced me to add bacon. Bacon makes everything better. Hand cut fries came with it, very nice touch. The sandwich was good, not great, could have used more cheese in my mind, but the portions were very, very generous, so you could actually just eat the good parts and not eat all of the dough and bread. The sauce was good too, I think it was sort of a sweet berry preserve reduction which went well with it.

The atmosphere was very good, as a single traveler on business I sat at the bar and had a great time talking with people around me, getting more information about the area. Bartender was good, she took care of the entire bar herself and was very busy but you never felt neglected while sitting there. I liked the open concept, the whole place felt like the bar. I wouldn't say this is a good 1st date spot, but if you're out with friends or you're out on a 40th date or something, it is a cool place. Lots of fun and upbeat. The decor was cool, they seemed to decorate for the season with some tacky decorations, but done in a really cool way.

Good times, good food.
