Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Werribee Park is a truly unique property with many stories to share. From Aboriginal communities that are known to have wandered the area, to the arrival of Scottish immigrants making their fortune in the 19th century and subsequent use as a seminary by the Catholic Church, Werribee Park offers an authentic insight into three facets of history. Step into the Mansion and experience the opulence of the 1880's whilst listening to the chatter of the Chirnside family with an audio headset tour (fee for mansion entry applies). Take a stroll to the original farmyard where rustic bluestone outbuildings provide a stark contrast to the craftsmanship of Chirnside mansion. Wander through the unique riverine, journey through the contemporary Werribee Park Sculpture Walk or stroll through 10 hectares of beautiful formal gardens and open space park land. Only 30 minutes from Melbourne, take a walk at Werribee Park, today.

“A look at a lifestyle gone by”

Beautiful old mansion, not far from the CBD. Grounds are outstanding so make sure you visit the rose garden. Inside is being restored and some of the rooms are magnificent. Day spa is great but expensive.

“A beautiful mansion with lovely grounds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2012 via mobile

We visited while staying with our son and his wife who lives nearby. The mansion is beautiful and gives one a step back in time feeling. The grounds were beautiful to stroll through - we even watched a polo match. The history of the mansion now open to the public and the hotel is very interesting.

“Luxury in the country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2012

Loved the atmosphere. Loved the fact that you could see/hear animals in the distance. Loved the fact that the gardens were very well kept. Loved the food. Loved the service. Loved the fact that I had the best sleep I'd had in a long time.

“Needs to be more customer friendly”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2012

Baeutiful Mansion and gardens and very reasonably priced but it needs more signs and better maps - it was particularly difficult to find the bus stop for instance. Also the customer service was terrible. The people were interested in having their own private phone conversations rather than helping us and the availability of vegetarian food was non existant form the cafe & they wouldn't go out of their way even to make a sandwich. If going there have a good map and bring your own food (either that or eat at the Werribee Zoo). Perhaps they need new management.
