Stayed here again for 5 days after having spent 14 days here in January 2012 and it is still absolutely perfect. The view is breathtaking and the chalets are incredibly comfortable -just a joy to be in.Close to Hobart but so tranquil and naturally beautiful. Also great location for a few really good restaurants, wineries, local cheeses and other beautiful Tassie produce. The fire is so lovely of an evening.Already planning our 3rd visit.

Room Tip: The four chalets are all the same except they feature different timbers

My wife and I stayed here in March. The lodges are superb with amazing views. All mod cons are included and the bathroom with double shower and bath with uninterrupted views towards Bruny Island. Our stay of 2 days was not enough to fully enjoy the facilities.

Organised a 2 night stay for my wife's birthday based upon previous reviews. Everything was perfect, the view, the rooms the bathroom ... Definitely at least a 2 night stay to get the best of this. Night time brings a view of the sky as if there were no windows at all, the peace and quiet is relaxing and the timber and finishes of the cabin an ideal match to the surrounds. More than highly recommend this .. You have to go and stay.

We stayed in No. 4. Black Heart Sassafras. Everything was stunning from the comfort to the equipment and provisions to the views over Bruny Island and the Tasmanian peninsula as far as Maria Island and Freycinet. Very private accommodation. Stained glass windows, bathrobes, slippers, a whole range of body and hair products, Nespresso machine with free refills, huge tea collection, eggs, bacon, bread, milk, butter, jams, orange juice in the fridge, a huge private terrace with BBQ, hammock, table and chairs, free laundry area near the swimming pool for private use. An amazing place.

We arrived at Woodbridge Hill Hideaway in sort of a surly mood, following a long drive from and a very bad experience at a highly touted resort in Swansea. This holiday was a milestone (not to be specified) birthday present for my wife, and I was in trouble for my last resort choice. Needless to say, from the moment we opened the door to the cottage, that I was in better standing. Within 15 minutes of being there, and drinking in the absolutely unmatched views of Bruny Island off the balcony and even from the bathroom, we were requesting an additional night added to our stay. Finton and Ruth have done a remarkable job with this property and have really thought of everything.
Some specific special touches:
Fully stocked wine bar with terrific Tasmanian choices; Beautiful terry robes and slippers; windows that open in the bathroom so that you can enjoy the views and the crisp breezes from the spa tub; nicely stocked firewood bin (with kindling) on the porch; very nice gas grill on the deck; incredible stained glasswork (Ruth's creations); unbelievable heavy wood counters and posts; beautiful wood ceiling (and oh yeah, Finton and his team actually milled much of the wood used right there on the property); heated towel rack; luxurious dual shower with large rainfall showerheads; coffee, tea, and expresso options that were wonderful; and did I mention the views? On the last morning we were up early enough to catch the sunrise over Bruny and even saw 4 kangaroos in the clearing off our deck.
The location is perfect if you are planning a day trip to Bruny - only about 10-15 minutes from the Kettering Ferry dock. Also only about 40-45 minutes from the center of Hobart, and I drive slow because of the whole left side of the road thing...
I really wish we didn't live half way around the world, but if ever in Tassie again, we will be back. Great job!!!

Room Tip: Black Sassafras cabin has highest outlook, and best view of the water and Bruny.
