“Hard to please if you don't like this.”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

We are semi-regular Indian cuisine diners and dropped in last Friday evening while spending the weekend in Ulverstone.

Both of us rated the food as equal to the best Indian we have tasted.

Close to a full house, so the locals apparently agree!

“Great restaurant for ulverstone!!!”
Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

Food and service really good. We live in Melbourne and have had some good Indian this is what ulverstone needs to add to its growing list of good places to eat!! Well worth the visit. the food delicious and cooked well. All meat was tender and sauces were rich and full of flavour. A must for a fairly cheap and extremely tasty nice night out. cheers.
This review is my opinion everyone's differs give it a try though. :))))) a big YUM from me.

“Food was good”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

apparently they have listened to the feedback re the bright lights and most of the flouros were turned off. a cple of token prints of india didnt do much for the atmoshere - but a carpet or two and a bit more effort would fix the ambience.

the food was very good. we had the banquet and had plenty of food. i may be wrong but thought we had a coffee included which never arrived.

service was good until the second last table left. from then on we received NO service. we sat waiting for over 10 minutes - with noone else in the restaurant and it was not late - to order coffees. the waiter and a cple of family members lodged themselves in the front corner refusing to look at us. till we gave up and went to pay the bill and recived a seriously unfriendly stare from ? an uncle.

i was so excited to have an indian restaurant in Ulverstone - but this one is presently disappointing. come on guys - lift your game and i will be back

“Lovely food”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Having visited several Indian restaurants in Tassie in the past, I was skeptical about visiting this one. I hate hearing microwave beeps in the background while I wait for my meal. If I want something from a microwave i'll stay at home! However, there was none of this heard here. The menu is large and there is definitely something for everyone. The only thing i'd change is the table size. The tables are too small to hold the food in a banquet.

“Best Indian in Tasmania yet”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

Having moved from SA twelve months ago, we've struggled to find decent Indian. We've tried a few in Hobart and Launceston, but nothing was living up to the standards we found easily interstate.

However, tonight we found it. We booked a table for six. The service was prompt and polite and changes to the menu were easily catered for. The portions were more ample than often served in Indian restaurants. The prices were as you would expect - about $20/main eat in an a little less for takeaway.

The real highlight was the food - which is kind of what you want. We had five dishes between our six, and it was about right - although we have one very small eater, and so one main a piece may probably be better normally. We had pappadums to start - the menu said four, but six came out :) Came with yoghurt and a dip for no extra.

Our main courses were 2 x butter chicken, 1 x beef vindaloo (medium), 1 x Lamb Korma, 1 x Chicken Pasanda.

Butter chicken - very nice one of the better ones I've had recently. Served with almonds on top.
Lamb Korma - to die for. This was the stand out in the group of very good dishes. Tender.
Chicken Pasanda - not a standard menu item. Was very nice and reminiscent of ones had overseas.
Beef Vindaloo - very good, even the medium had quite a kick. Those that had it said it was very good.

Also had garlic naan and roti, which were fairly standard but good.

We will definitely return, and regularly. The teens who are often fussy about what they eat and sticking to butter chicken spread their wings and tried more options.

Open till about 9pm for orders. Takeaway and eat in.
