“Fresh Seafood Casual Dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

I tried their seafood chowder and loved it. Oysters were fresh aswell. Servings of fish and chips were big consdering costs $17 +. Remember to find out their closing times because at 6:30 we had to take it away. Plus you dont want to get stuck in Swansea without food.

“Great spot for lunch on the east coast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Not your standard fish and chips shop! A fascinating little cafe that has a hint of the sub-continent about it. The scallop pie was outstanding, the pastry was almost that of a samosa and filled with fresh Tasmanian scallops and a lttile more than a hint of curry, but still not overpowering. Blue-eye trevalla was really expensive but unexpected in a fish and chip shop, it was cooked to perfection. Chips were nice and fresh too, served in brown paper cones.

“Great fish and chips and oysters!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

After reading the reviews, we decided to include this establishment as part of our foodie trail in Tasmania as we made our way back to Hobart. The oysters were so creamy and plump,we heard the table next to us remark that these were the best oysters they had as well. The owner is very passionate about her food and extremely knowledgable. The batter for the fish was amazing, extremely light n crispy, and it's gluten free!

“real food in an unpretentious cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013

I stopped here for a light lunch, whilst on the road from Launceston to Coles Bay. The fact that there are so few places to choose from at this season did not bode well: this was pretty much a random/desperation choice. However, it was more than a pleasant surprise. The smoked salmon and spinach mini-quiche that I ordered was absolutely delicious, and the side salad that came with it was crisp, fresh and not at all over-dressed. The waitress who took my order at the counter was charming, and the price was very reasonable. OBS is a totally unpretentious place with plastic tables and bare floorboards, which specializes in fish and chips but has a much larger menu of wholesome food on offer. I’d strongly recommend it
