Description: After 11 1/2 years The Ugly Duck Out has CLOSED. This cheerful diner catered for dietary requirements and for those that wished to reduce their environmental footprint. The "ecotarian" menu promoted the benefits of this style of dining, exploring the link between the food we eat and its source. Ethically and environmentally sustainable produce was the foundation for honest, award winning preparations that were in harmony with the season. Gluten-free, low FODMAP and vegetarian diets were easily catered for. Our onsite produce garden ensured fresh produce and the kids play room was fun for both children and parents. The Ugly Duck Out was an awesome experience.

“Average country food served by happy staff”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

We dined here twice whilst staying at the nearby Swansea Motor Inn. The meals were average but filling and quite tasty. Decor was poor but the friendliness of staff made up for this.

“really average”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

smelly and really average. not very friendly on arrival maybe the Easter holidays were a bit stressful .I was impressed that they had a hole row of compost bins out the back near the car park and also grow their own herbs.

“Tasty breakfast”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

We had a lovely breakfast here one Sunday morning. Felt sympathy for the owner who was on her own cooking and had a bad back! It did not stop her cooking 4 very substantial and tasty breakfasts, which set us up for a long trip that day.

“Good meal”
Reviewed March 29, 2014

My mum and I stopped here for lunch. We were able to order very quickly. The hummus and dip for entree was very nice. Our two main meals were also very tasty and filling. There would also have been a good view from the window if it had not been raining.

“Out of the ordinary”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

Their wide menu includes several unusual dishes and well as old favourites. They are eco-friendly, using mainly local produce and cater for gluten free and for children. They also do take aways.
