On our recent visit to Tasmania we had to visit Strahan again and stayed at a place next to where my Mum had lived umteen years ago and played in the yard of Ormiston House.
Owner (sorry I forgot her name) greeted us and showed us to our room whilst explaining a little about the house.
We had a lovely room with ensuite bathroom and claw foot bath (they always make the bathroom look that much nicer I think).
Enjoyed a drink in the bar before walking to town for dinner and enjoyed a continental breakfast in the morning at Ormiston.
Lovely home and if you are into the oldy worldy homes it is well worth staying at.
We did have trouble finding somewhere to have dinner as not everywhere was open but eventually got seated about 9 - I would make dinner reservations a couple of days before going to Strahan as this is apperently a common thing.
Lovely home, lovely host and beautiful town.More
