This is a very clever little play performed on a shoestring but beware there is a lot of audience particpation. The kids loved it and so did we.

Well done, quite amusing, lots of audience participation, tells the story of the escape from Sarah Island, which is visited on the Gordon River Cruise.

“Fun and games”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

The Ship that Never Was is a 1 1/4 hour show held near the Strahan boardwalk every night at 5pm. It is a two 'man' show, currently performed by two female actors who are very talented and funny. They also popped up on our visit conducting commentary at the timber mill and on a boat cruise! It has been running for many years and has had 5000 performances. It tells a historic story in a very amusing and entertaining manner with loads of audience participation and utilising a very clever set and costumes. It is held in the open air but suitable for all weathers and times of year as the amphitheatre is under a canopy and there are blankets handed out to keep warm with. I really recommend you go along and see this show which is very much a part of the Strahan experience.
