Cruises depart Strahan daily at 9am. Attractions include a cruise through the harbour entrance - Hells Gates, get a close up view of the Atlantic Salmon fish farms, enjoy a guided tour on Sarah Island, take in the magic of the Gordon River, followed by a walk amongst ancient trees on our rainforest boardwalk, and finish your day with a demonstration on the workings of a traditional Huon Pine sawmill.

This company really know how to look after you, the staff are friendly, courteous and very approachable. The wealth of knowledge they have about the area is second to none. The boat is large roomy and comfortable and you are free to move around at will. The buffet lunch has an incredible selection of fresh salads, meats, local cheese and smoked salmon. The trip takes the best part of the day but it goes by very quickly and if the conditions are right you can go out to Cape Sorell Lighthouse. The trip up the Gordon River is magic to say the least through world heritage rainforest, where you can hop off the boat and take a stroll through some of the forest. This is a great value for money trip I would truly recommend.

This 6-hour tour is well worth staying in Strahan for 2 nights! The boat is very comfortable, the friendly, helpful, crew are locals who know the area well and do a fantastic job. The Sarah Island tour guide gave us an interesting insight into the convict history and the deprivations they endured. The day we travelled it rained all day, however it did not dampen our enjoyment of the trip. The ethereal beauty of the area in the rain was magnificent. Do go prepared with wet-weather gear (for when you are ashore at Sarah Island and the wilderness walk) and you will have a good day. The very generous lunch was delicious. Plan to take in the dramatisation of The Ship That Never Was at 5.30pm next to the Visitor's Centre - such a lot of fun!

We took the full day cruise. We went out into the sea then walked around an island then cruised up the river and walked along walkways.
Oh, and had a great lunch, saw wild and peaceful scenery and walked into the forrest.
Truly an exceptional day.

You might need to stay 2 nights in Strahan just to experience this trip, but it is worth it! We did spend roughly 6 hours on the boat on a nice calm and sunny day. The captain gave very good commentary, we expected that we would listen to an audio tape but this is not the case. The tour was very informative and staff was putting in a lot of effort to turn this into a great experience. This is not just a calm river cruise for elderly, this is something for all ages and I would definitely recommend it.

We deliberately stated 2 nights in Strahan in order to do this cruise. We chose this company because they pioneered this work. We would endorse heartily what others have written. It wasn't much of a day but we felt very comfortable and safe aboard the Eagle. The highlight for me was the visit to Hells Gates, all the more exciting because of the turbulent seas. There is a variety of experiences on this trip, combining an appreciation of history, the wonder of the environment, and the stories of human conflict and courage. The staff were brilliant, the meal was generous, and the boat/ship was extremely comfortable. The whole trip took about 6 hours so you really need to allow a full day and probably 2 nights to do it. Strahan is an isolated place and any trip there is long and challenging. We drove from Stanley to Strahan and then from Strahan to Hobart, both signficant journeys.
